There's only one more thing I can think of. Do you have Steam Community In-Game enabled? (Steam settings, In-Game tab) If so, uncheck the box and see if that does the trick.

Is your copy set to be maximized by default? There's an incredibly slim chance this'll solve things (and I don't know why it would, but at this point...), but try keeping the window at its normal size until the game proper starts.

If I'm understanding this correctly, it should be a simple matter of logging out of the one and logging into the other. Just make sure you do it in-game.

Got the X360 version early on this year. Almost $200 investment for me (game and cable $70, guitar $120), and I have to get back into it. (Damn you, new games! *Mighty Fist Shaking!*) I may have to "start over".
