Oh well, that settles that then.

The Fb posts did seem a bit off. No point in feeding the trolls.

I'll say right away that I haven't joined the beta, so I do not actually know what's changed other than what was seen in the video.

As far as anyone here knows, none of us are in the beta. Unless they are under some NDA that is.

The point about the "flying" is valid though. The twists in the air would only result in the tethering appendages (be they chains, ropes or something else) becoming tangled and like many of the videos online of people water-skiiing, result in a lot of faceplanting.

I've tried to make an account on the pop-up in game, and it won't allow me to. It just keeps saying "Error" at the top. What do I do? :'(

Take a screenshot (Steam takes a screenshot when you press F12) and post a link to it, so we know exactly what's going on.

You'll need a fast HD to only get the quoted 3% performance hit.
On older HDs you're going to have performance issues since it's dumping the data to disk that's the problem.
Straight to H.264 will result in less data being dumped overall though, so should be better than Fraps.

Probably tested on SSDs, certainly not a 5400RPM spinning rust. Although Fraps hits the same issues with write bottlenecking.

Dumping to h.246 is a pretty neat plan as most would just encode with that and upload anyway.

Chat / Record that run without leaving FRAPS on

While an in-game recording feature would be nice, this seems like a nice alternative to having to leave Fraps running all the time.

nVidia are adding a feature to their drivers that allows the card to stream the video data to harddrive, using vastly less resources than Fraps. Also can record the last rolling 20mins as standard. Should be ideal for getting that perfect run when you forgot to screen cap.

Troubleshooting / Re: Quicktime Error

If the music has DRM it won't play in Audiosurf at all.

There is no DRM for iTunes songs anymore. Apple finally removed DRM from all their song files after an agreement with music labels.

With no clue to how recently the music was purchased, the statement about DRM is still valid.

Have you tried reinstalling DirectX/D3D?

Don't see how the blocks are related to the music. Possible due to track choice, in which case not great marketing on their behalf.

Uploading music, so the analysing is done on remote? Which would make a game require an internet connect which of course is always possible while travelling...

In short, it's no Audiosurf replacement

@blue_h3x You should take note of a spelling error: Ausiosurf should be correctly spelled Audiosurf at the beginning of the title of this thread.

Ha, thanks man.

If anyone sees the preview in the magazine in question, perhaps they should take a picture with a camera phone and share it with us in this thread.

I have a copy of that issue, but scanning and uploading the article when it was a paid issue feels too close to ripping them off. Call it piracy if you like.

... because a rain coat daubed with Audiosurf is the ultimate apparel.

Although Ausiosurf themed mac and cheese would also be pretty epic.

Also, 5k posts, and you lost the game.

I hate how they ruin clean matches.

Isn't that their purpose?

That article doesn't appear to be on the site. Though it's not uncommon for articles to appear in the print version some time before online.

I also have no intent on supporting dying and irrelevant industries like paper media.

Ouch. Seriously though, ever tried swatting a fly with a news app?
