Ok, twofold question here:

First: What is the technical legality on redistributing chip tunes? I've got a few off the internet from respectable looking sites (Mind you, for games I own). I've got .ogg re-encodings of them that I could put up if it would be permissible.

Second: Is there any way to add in plug-in support for Audiosurf, like BonkEnc supports Winamp plugins? Like allowing .dll's containing the correct handling information being added to a plug-in directory?

I'm gonna go with a forgiveness rather than permission thing, since it won't really hurt the makers (since they would be near inable to sell the songs in this form), and since the only people interested will be those who have the games, since it's more of a nostalgia thing.

I'm starting with Sonic III and Knuckles.

It's in 7-zip or .exe format. Live with it. The .exe has the .ogg's in a sub-folder, the .7z has them with no folder containing them.

Feature Requests / 2.5d Ultra-low/Retro Graphics Mode?

Would it be possible to have a 2.5 dimensional (think Doom) style Retro/Ultra-Low detail mode, where all the objects were sprites? It could be low-system friendly, and would allow a retro feel. (The only 3d objects would be the road, everything else would just be sprites. It would also lack some of the background activity).

This is just a suggestion, but think how awesome it would be if you had your own custom textured cars (using colorization, of course), and whatnot on the screen. Also, the sides of the road could be just rectangular prisms.

Really low system req's (if it works out that way) and a unique feel. Think about it.

Cave Story only has two OCRemix entries, not enough to warrant marathon status, so I made a mini-marathon by merging the two. Eleven minutes long, the marathon includes Moon Rhapsody by DrumUltimA and Escape Route by Corran.

Now, let me preface this all by saying that I can compose and write music. I just stink (euphemism) at it.

I also love Audiosurf, and, specifically, road trips.

The Creative Commons License gives people the right to use your music you release under it in a project. So I decided to make a marathon (15 minutes long), to showcase some Creative Commons music and the potential of Audiosurf.

This is an experiment to see how many people play a fifteen minute song.

The .mp3 version is recommended, but the .ogg is smaller.
