Freeride mode: A couple new options
« on: February 16, 2008, 12:27:34 pm »
After reading the AS visualization thread, I tried out freeride for the 1st time.
It was NOTHING like I thought it would be.
I think 2 easy options should be added to it:

1. Turn cars off
2. Turn ship off

This would, maximize the emphasis on the highway, and make it feel like you have to do something a lot less.
It would be appreciated, but I can understand if it's not done, as the to-do list is growing like weeds.

Yeah I also thought that cars would be off. I thought it'd be like in the tutorial it gives you like 30 seconds to enjoy the scenery

I'd like it if it counted how many of the blocks you hit just for the hell of it.

It does count the block hits! There's a percentage up in the top left.

While messing with a bugfix I ended up in freeride with no cars and it was good. That should be an option.

One thing I would love in Freeride is the fireworks that everyother class has when you hit blocks -- errr cars.

Perhaps having the option to turn the cars on/off and selectable "fireworks" for our viewing delight... I'm all for the addition of maybe oddest surrealistic stuff in the background of free ride. Perhaps it could end up being a customizable Rez-like thing. Nevertheless, the option has a lot of potential for when we just want to relax, increase the volume and enjoy the cool visuals.  :)
