It's fun to play. It might be OP, I agree, but that's just how it is.

I reckon the OP of it is only limited to the ability of the player. I mean, if someone's a noob, they're good at Eraser and nothing else. If someone's alright, they're good at eraser. If someone's good, they're good at eraser. If someones better than good, they're good at eraser. Then you got MetalSurfeR, Oopla, DSC, Ken, amongst others, that are good at eraser, but get just as many points in pusher or pointman. For that reason, noobs have their eraser to cling onto for some good scores, and the pros don't really care.

Maybe nerf the 100% clear bonus to a +50% clear bonus? That way, multiplier clears aren't as OP (x4 + Clear bonus on a full 23 block red board at full chain is more points than even Vegas can generate in a single match, and quite possibly the highest amount of points possible from a single match)

You can get high scores with it yes, but that doesn't mean you're good with it. That's where its overpowered-ness lies; the ability to get a relatively high score without much effort or expertise. This doesn't mean it's a noob-only mode, it still has a high skill ceiling (though not as high as the others).

Competition between modes is really a pointless thing to acknowledge.

The simple answer is that Eraser can never be nerfed because it is too late. Characters that had been buffed cannot be nerfed because it would compromise the scoreboard. The only exception would be to nerf Eraser and begin a whole new scoreboard while placing the current scoreboard in the archives. There are too many high scores that would never be challenged if Eraser or other characters are nerfed.

On a lot of songs, all competition would be just gone, as all scores would be gone and there's nobody there to fight for them again.

Pfft. Keep it how it is. I complain about Vegas whooping my ass in pro, but if I tried to play vegas, I'd crash and burn miserably... several times. They're good because they keep at it. Don't just switch to eraser because it's "OP", make like Lu Tze and fuck everyone over with pusher

maybe buff pointman/pusher then, that way the scores wouldn't be inflated and could allow pointman/pushers to actually get closer scores with comparative skill level erasers instead of being even with slightly less good ones.

This whole topic has been discussed to death more times than enough. If anything was to happen it would have likely happened already. Unfortunately that leaves us with the current situation remaining left unattended.

I'm really surprised anyone would ask about the possbility of nerfing any characters at this point in time. We're talking about 2 years of scores. Therefore, it would be useless to try to nerf any characters. I think it's a moot point by now.
