Cheating
« on: July 04, 2011, 08:00:49 am »
Not sure exactly what this guy is on about, but it seems to be some method of cheating. Is anyone aware of this? Remove this post if you would rather people not see the comment, although if the comment could be removed that would be better.

(Its was the first comment when I saw it, by "mblunk")

Memory edits, for those without a big enough e-pen.

Anything regarding the comments should be passed directly to Dylan, as we on the forums have no access to the scoreboards.  I removed the link just in case, but like Passerby said it's one of the oldest ways.  Mblunk is just pissed that I banned his account for posting the exact same thing a couple days ago.

Interesting. I'm always reading about cheaters but never really thought about how they go about it. I don't see the point to be honest.

Seems to be common in music games. Beat Hazard has similar issues. There isn't really a good solution (although there are a few obfuscating methods you can drop in code that will require people to know a bit more about how the internals of programs work).

I don't think it's as huge an issue as is often made out though. Some people suck at life, it's not worth getting pissed at them for it. ;)

I'd +1, but not for the reason that it does niggle when you play legitimately and don't get the top spot/whatever. It's hard to not get annoyed sometimes.

I registered that account that very day to troll, over a proxy so you can't even IPban me. You think i care about the forum account? Also, your ban page doesn't even show who gave the ban, so you don't even get credit for it. I didn't even know who it was until now. I'm glad you get such satisfaction from telling yourself you made people angry over the internet, when I can see for a fact that I did by leaving an entire community in flames.

I challenge you to provide a complete, thoughtful reply.. or you could go ahead and delete my posts if you're too ignorant to accept defeat. You think you beat me by banning me.. i can come back and make a new account whenever I want. You only waste your own time. You can't beat me.

Nice internet tough guy act, mblunk.

You're gonna have to realize that nobody cares at all whether or not you believe that you're trolling us - go right ahead.

Please don't double-post, there's an Edit button for a reason.

I've been called out :o

I will try and answer this point by point, as I believe you meant a reply to your post right there and not some other action of yours that I already made a reply to.
I may have been oversummarizing when I said that you were pissed about the forum account, I admit, but you're pissed about something or else you wouldn't be trolling.
I couldn't care less if I get credit for banning anyone, it's not like they pay me to do this.
Do I get satisfaction from banning people?  That's a dumb question.  Do the police get satisfaction from jailing criminals?
I am well aware that the 'challenge' was simply more trolling, designed to provoke an angry response with the average onlooker coming to the assumption that you won't even look at it.  Whether or not you come back, however, this is a direct message to the community as well on my feelings here.  I know you won't be able to resist, though.
I beat you simply by being here.  Banning you is just a part of the process.  I have been with this forum for years, and I have seen about 4 or 5 of you.  I'm still here, and they're obviously not.  The most recent guy didn't even follow through on his threat to keep changing proxies; I believe his exact words were "You'll run out of patience before I run out of proxies".

Did I miss anything?

Oh yeah:  bye.

You speak as if you're proud of having spent 5 years of your life being faithful to your forum.. shame. And I'm sure the other guys who apparently did the same thing had just as much fun watching the regulars like you and your forum buddies get all upset about cheating. But look what happened - dylan got off his lazy ass and actually removed other cheating scores too. You're welcome. This will be the last account I bother to register, and it was a pleasure doing business with you.
