A hint for the full version simply dying problem
« on: February 16, 2008, 12:34:04 am »
Hi,
I just tried AudioSurf on two of my systems. On the first it always crashes after choosing "Play" in the main menu. Since it tries to play a tutorial video after clicking play (I know this because it worked on the second system) I guess installing FFDshow or at least looking into some kind of codec issue will help. What kind of codec is being used for the tutorials?

@Dev-Team: It would be nice if AudioSurf would at least let us know what went wrong after all.

I can´t tell for sure what actually is causing the problem. Either it is old or missings codecs, or it is reclock filter. The latter might be a good candidate, but I did not have the chance to give it a try by removing it.

Just wanted to let you know.

bye, Grimmi

P.S.: Anyway - is there a logfile audiosurf creates?

Hi--thanks. We are working on this. Just to let you know the codec it uses is Windows Media Player. Does that help?

A good codec pack is the CCCP.
