really the games comes out on Tuesday so i really don't care if there is a early release or not.

Managed to get 24 before running out of challenges I can complete without tearing my hair out, and one of my other friends is all the way up at 31 and still going.

The way I see it about the early release thing is, if we play along extra special things happen. The ARG isn't actually over once GLaDOS is back online; there's loads of unsolved portions sitting around on the wiki that people are searching for clues to.

I've been leaving Rush going (it's a bit short, I wandered through all the Easy and Medium puzzles in a couple of hours with no hints), but honestly, it seems that valve are only going to remove an hour for each game 'completed' anyway. For me, that means I'll get it at around 5am Tuesday instead of 6pm, for those in the US I'm not really seeing the appeal unless they intend on not working/etc on Tuesday and play through Monday night...

It has been an interesting game launch anyway. If nothing else it's kept people engaged and playing indie games.

Using the launch to a big game, to advertise and get smaller indie games played, certainly it an interesting launch strategy. No doubt made Valve double than P2 alone, but also helped many indie games get played and well known.
