There's some pretentious indie developers that have some weird ideas about "art games" which often end up with broken gameplay because they're more interested in trying to get something across instead of making a working game. It's not a particularly good view imo.Other than that, there's the whole "games as art" debate. Which is unresolvable as it depends on your definition of art. Personally I say it's anything that can evoke a solid emotional response and/or make you think (from the game content itself, not from broken controls, dodgy level design or dickwads on multiplayer servers), in which case I'd say the Portal series qualifies. But, just my opinion.
