Challange me
« on: April 10, 2011, 10:28:01 am »
Hello :)

As a Ninja Mono player I have no more songs to try stealthing on this PC. Therefore I would appreciate if any of you guys here have some challanges for me that I can upload to YouTube. I'm starting to get tired of only 240~ traffic songs, and want something to work on.

I can't record Silent Death or Final Audacity either due to way too much lag. Other than that I appreciate any songs that you may have in mind. Not that noise-crap :)

Depends on what kind of music you like to surf.

I have a couple of 270+ traffic tracks... mostly instrumentals or japanese music.
I'm gonna try to stealth a nice 293 traffic track this weekend :3

SynthR - The last prophecy
Counterstrike - Draco
Astral Projection - Kabalah
65daysofstatic - Tiger girl
Fuck Buttons - Flight of the feathered serpent

All of them are pretty fun and have +300 traffic

I've already stealthed The Last Prophecy (a vid on YouTube), but thank you :)

As for the other songs, are there any possibilities you could send me those? Or re-direct me to a site where they're downloadeable?

I listen to a lot of different music.
A few minutes ago I played through some of Nighthawk 22's songs and it's pretty fun. One of his songs (Alternate Dimension http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkj8JZMAHMA) have 567 traffic. I would love more of high-traffic songs like that!

Claustrophobia - The State

Length: 4:55
Traffic: 487

Competitive .ash attached here: http://www.audio-surf.com/forum/index.php/topic,6374.0.html

Might as well get used to ash-modified tracks if you stealth it; thats about as difficult as unmodified / non-noise tracks get.

@Ko-Tao, I would also appreciate the MP3. It seems I can't get .ash to work. :/

I prefer not to use file upload sites (since they wont allow upload/download with javascript disabled, and often have ads etc with malware attacks in them) but ill be happy to dcc it via irc or whatnot.

The .ash file isnt music, its the audiosurf track associated with the song. Using the same .ash ensures everyone competing has identical block layouts, length etc. The .ash file should be placed in audiosurf/engine/audiosurfhc.

Also, i tried Nighthawk22 - Alternate Dimension and got 585 traffic, but it was surprisingly easy for its density (first run stealth), with most of the blocks being long chains of colors and minimal grey dodging needed. Interesting nonetheless; its the highest traffic unmodified, actual music track ive seen to date.

Ok, I understand, but what exactly is dcc and irc?

I know where to place the .ash file, but for some reason, not all .ash files show up when I search for them in Audiosurf.

After a run without recording, I also see that Alternate Dimension was pretty easy. I guess that cuting lots of frames with Fraps makes it a bit more laggy and therefore not as easy to calculate where the blocks are in comprarison to you. Still, it is also the highest traffic song I've encountered that isn't modified.

If you rename the song, then AS will re-ash it.

What do you mean by re-ash? That the .ash file will go back to the original .ash, or that it will be broken?

(I haven't renamed any song yet)
