Video Game Music
« on: February 14, 2011, 12:33:52 am »
Does anyone play the game to videogame music? Considering I am a hip hop fan, most of the songs I listen to are kinda slow. I play DBZ Infinite world, DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3, RCT3, and I use to play RCT2 and I tend to find those songs challenging (lots of traffic and mostly orange/red). This is probably my favorite song to play to (no it's not dbz. :P)

I do, but because of the way I tag my VGTunes, competition is nulled.

I do, but I don't really play Audiosurf competitively so I probably don't count.

Scoreboards for a lot of game sound tracks do seem busy though. Depends on the game however.
I was surprised that several of VVVVVV's tracks have full boards for instance.

Trackmania Nations tracks are fun and tagged (and the game is free).

I really like Unreal Tournament 2004's soundtrack.

Of course there's the Orange Box soundtrack too, but I don't think it's that interesting, with the exception of a few songs (vortal combat, dark interval)
I am enough idiot to block also this topic, and if aomtt has also enough idiot to continue toss old statements have been said and new statements no basis then block those yes.

I'm making a note here...

Keep meaning to try Super Meat Boy's soundtrack as well.
The soundtrack for Super Smash Brothers Brawl is quite popular iirc.
I've some old gameboy tracks my brother ripped as well which are almost all downhill. Scoreboards are empty though because the tracks are unique.

You should try out:

Frank Klepacki - Crush (C&C Red Alert) (bumpy track at green/yellow speed, very fun to play)
Allister Brimble - Venus Atmospheric Lab (Descent MAC Soundtrack) - lots of colored traffic at mono.

Grand Theft Auto's soundtrack (VC, SA, 4) is quite nice to surf as well, but I don't think that's what you mean :p

most of my video game music is .mid format, but i do have some mp3's, like Kingdom Hearts OST for example, and they are quite fun, as well as the scoreboards being filled.

SMB, Shatter (a good choice, I must say), Bit. Trip (quite easy), VVVVVV, Unreal Tournament, and Touhou (EVEN THE MUSIC IS DIFFICULT).

Let's see... I play some of the music from Bulletstorm since the OST was free to download. I play quite a few from the X Universe (X3:Terran Conflict), mainly the one's by Alexei Zakharov. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and a couple of other tunes from other MGS games. The opening tune to TES IV:Oblivion.
