Next update wishlist.
« on: February 15, 2008, 07:03:28 pm »
First, I love this game, great job on everything. I have some suggestions that I think would be useful and add polish to the game.

  • Ability to bookmark your audio folder - I don't like having to browse to my music every time I start the game.
  • Playlist creator - You should be able to create playlists, possibly have the ability to share them with your friends.
  • Have a toggle option that reads the IDE3 tags for the filebrowser, as many of my CD's tracks are not named, but rather are tagged.
  • Have a toggle option that always boots in full screen.
  • I enjoyed the very rare occasion that the entire track would do a giant corkscrew, It would be cool if they happened more often.

RECOGNISE ALBUM TAGS.

Thus high scores can be given for entire albums.

Music preview button in the directory listing would be great.

This way I have to check the songs in external player before surfing .

How about no song length limit? Is there any real reason why it exists? I would seriously love to listen to podcasts with Audio Surf, but with this length limit doing nothing but wasting my time, it's very difficult. If there is a real reason for why the limit exists, how about telling us BEFORE it loads the entire song? That would be nice.

Support general gamepads!  I can't even use my 360 pad with the XBCD drivers; I have to use the official MS ones. ¬_¬

I'm thinking it's there for performance reasons.  A 1 hour long track would take a lot or resources to render.

There's still some issues with the scenery clipping into the track that I'd like to see fixed.  It's sort of annoying when your screen turns black because you're INSIDE of one of those huge squiggly arm things.

I agree with the first guy, make a play list creator, and some other things

-more achievements

-more characters

-a way to organize your music in game instead of searching for it, so like your menu on your ipod for albums and artists, ect.

-def more loops and stuff like that

-and make it more trippy...if you can?

-a way you can set your speed on the menu, so like you want to got 2x as fast...

-maybe a better background, like one with stars even though it's really not necessary, it just would be tight

that's all i got really...and for the creator thanks for this game cause it's awesome, i never thought it would be this good...

If this gets added, I REALLY hope it's optional.  I already have all my songs sorted on my HDD.

- Custom ship(s) main color

- Correction of the gray 'background'(it worked just for 2 songs... I liked the gray track with black background)

- Select track and background color independently(if you want black on black, thou shalt have it; if you want black on white, thou shalt have it; if you want gray on white, thou shalt have it XD this includes custom track color, but if you make the blocks almost invisible on the track, your bad, change the colors)

- Transparent track(I once got the return from minimized glitch and I LOVED the transparent track for the few seconds it lasted)

- Option to have gray blocks have another color or shape(to be able to select gray as a custom block color)

- Custom track decoration(do you want tunnels? how many circles per tunnel?[yes, 9999999, so the track is entirely made of a tunnel XD] and other types of decoration)

- Custom sound effect(select a sound file to play every time the sound effect is supposed to. if you make a lond and long sound, your bad, it will screw your music, make a new one)

- Select an image to display on the back of the 'cars'(I'd put a O_O or a XD face made in 2 seconds in paint. transparency compatible, so it's up to you to make the transparency so you see the block color properly)

- Turn off visual effects(my computer is not good... DX )

- .xm support. PLEEEEASE! º3º

- Put the Audiosurf menu theme on the Audiosurf Radio(yes, I do like it! ALOT!)(maybe even a remix too)

That's about it ^^

I posted this is Bugs but I guess ill post it here
"1. Make the "sound effect" i choose default, it's annoying having to turn it off whenever i enter a game. Sometimes I even forget and I have to esc and turn it off, it's not really that big of a thing.
2. Double click to open folders/songs. I don't know if it's just me but when I'm selecting a song I sometimes think about what song I want to play by highlighting them....well that can't work cause it just picks the song. Sometimes I'm so use to double clicking to open folders that I double click a folder and it chooses a song right away. :("

Redo the tutorial to introduce things slowly, and take out the info-popups when you first start playing. They don't do well for first impressions.

it'd be awesome if there was some way to play video game music files (such as usf & adx).  Though, I HIGHLY doubt that'll happen...

So the best thing I can hope for is for some magical 1337 h4x that would let us use Winamp input plugins (such as in_cube and 64th Note) to enable playback of videogame audio. :P (which I doubt will happen as well)

Oh, and ID3 TAG SUPPORT, dammit. :)

edit: and some sort of message when you try to load a song too long for AS, like "Due to technical limitations, songs over $foo minutes long cannot be played yet." I keep seeing people saddened when after a few minutes of cheering the analyzer along it kicks out at the very end.
