How to deal with those people? Massive cheater wans#3.
« on: February 07, 2011, 01:44:35 am »
Run a search for wans#3 - I'd say a good point to start would be Evanescence. He constantly keeps cheating on tracks, on Surrender I mentioned it and guess what ... he called me a cheater and defended his abysmal track-shape.

I'd very much like to report the player here, not individual tracks because that guy simply can't play fair. I'm not judging his character but his ways are ruining our scoreboards on way more than just a handful of tracks.

So, does anyone know how to file a report or contact someone with sufficient authority to remove him from the game? (though he will probably be back as wans#4)

Regards,
Steve

Link to the song

He does have a different track shape from everyone else on the board... Still, I'm not sure he's actively cheating. He shouldn't have called you a cheater, that just makes no sense - but I don't really think he actively used another song to get the throne.

Also, his score isn't that much higher than yours, you should be able to improve it :P

I do understand your frustrations though, it's always nicer to compete on the same track.

Oh nice ... He is now leaving insults in my shoutbox. Sticks and stones if you ask me. That guy doesn't have the maturity to understand "fair play" yet so I guess I'll just beat his silly score and get on with it.

Using the xstats you can compare the amount of each colour on the track.

wans#3
purpleblueyellowredwhite
23343515010319

JanitorSteve
purpleblueyellowredwhite
167250844911

I can't be sure about cheating, but one track has sufficiently higher traffic than the other, giving a large score advantage.
Australia is kinda awesome, but it's no Yorkshire.

he also does have a point with the 128kb/s mp3 for his files i always have lower traffic to my competition because all my files are lossless flac or wav, cheater not too likely bit of a jerk sure.

I dont think anyone wants to say that he faked his score - hes just using an .ash from another song or manipulated it.

True, I got the same problem, but usually this doesnt change the whole track shape (at least i never saw that happen).

There's one going around currently named √αg FΓΘG and has a score of 50 million on audiosurf overture, among other songs listed on the popular category.

It can.  I have two copies of the same song (128 and 192 kbps), and the 192 kbps one is uphill and bumpy with about 150 traffic and the 128 kbps one is a flat downhill with over 200 traffic.

I've looked now closely at metaLsurfeR's skillrating and Janitor Steve's which hold the 2nd and 3rd position. Their skillrating is obviously higher than wans #3's which means that the person with the throne is really using an "easy scoring version" but still did bad that's why he has only 1027 skillrating and metaLsurfeR has 1585.

metaLsurfeR should be holding the throne (because of the better skill) ... i think?

Edit:

I am super blind, didn't see wans #3's track shape is absolute downhill.  :-X

There seems to be two common track profiles, metaLsurfeR has a different shape to JanitorSteve, though both those seem to appear with other players. Though wans#3 definitely is a solid downhill track.

on a song that clearly varies between calm and intense parts, a straight line downhill track is impossible = definite cheater. or someone added silent static to his song (lol).
