Well, long before Steam even existed, some bros from the Descent community got together and made a descent inspired soundtrack, respectively called the Descent Community Album.
The album IS free, but the only site hosting it was Planetdescent.com, hosted by Gamespy. The server became corrupt, and because Gamespy did not support Descent anymore, they did not have a backup to restore.
However, the senior members of PD.com made their own site, Planetdescent.net, who happen to have the DCA in their file hosting section. Oh boy do I have some suggestions.
First and foremost:
Track 3: Work Edge by Verran Eventide
-This song is a techno-electronic song with both bass and treble composition with multiple instruments. The setup of the song gives it an incredibly steady, fun, and high-tempo ride in the major segments. There is no lack of colored blocks in Mono, it is easy to avoid the greys, but trying to get the colored blocks is treacherous, and the flow of having to make these attempts goes well with the music. I could not suggest a better song than this from the DCA.
If you are wondering, yes that is a oriental language the dude is speaking next to the end. In Descent, the PTMC HQ is in Seoul.
Track 7: Light Improv by REV
-This is a two instrument Jimi/Bob esque 'jamin' song, consisting of a bass heavy electric guitar and a standard drum set. The song is an easy ride, but the jumps can end your streak real fast if you aren't feeling it, "Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel" -Jimi Hendrix. It lasts a good 5 minutes and has a varying tempo and the guitar notes do NOT sound like someone made them with a MIDI synthesizer, unless the bro used a MIDI guitar. Even if you don't enjoy the ride, the song it self is excellent listening.
Uh, about the MIDI thing, all the songs in D1 and D2 are synth files (like MIDI).
Hope you guize like it. I know I did
