Programmers find it extremely annoying that people always think these huge things are so easy to implement.

Where did I say, in any of my posts, that it would be "EZ" to implement?

Directly? No. But you keep inferring that it's an easy update though by saying that Audiosurf "should" have multiplayer.

You seem to be under the impression that because you bought the game Dylan is obligated to give you more features and/or release DLC. He's not. He's not even obligated to bugfix.
He spent a lot of dev time fixing many bugs after release and added a whole API for people to write add-ons.
That's a lot more than most AAA companies do despite them having many, many, many times the resources.

Whilst multi-player would be awesome and a much loved feature, the game is still awesome without it. I've ragged on the issues that using Questviewer has caused a lot in the past but that doesn't take away from the fact that this game is an absolute fucking bargain for its price!

Now, please, stop being so negative about it.

Here's a little business tip for you- THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. He shouldn't have put the game up for sale or copyright it if he didn't expect anyone to expect anything of him. Yes, I do think that after 3 years or so, there should some official update as to the future of AS multiplayer, whether that be "No, ain't happening" or otherwise.

Problem?

Wrong.

The customer can be an obnoxious **** who wants something for nothing. Besides, once you have bought the product, and it works exactly as it says it should, then the customer-supplier relationship is null.
I bought a game years ago, (plane crazy if you wish to know), which was made for Win'98. It didn't work particularly well on XP and not at all on Win7 x64. By your logic I can go to the dev's and complain and harass them to add Win7 support. Though guess what, they have no obligation to listen.
If you are paying a subscription and the game doesn't work, they yes you are a paying customer. Though for a one-off payment to receive a product that works exactly as it should - you have paid, not paying. Notice the tense, past not present.

However, that doesn't mean anyone should be closed to suggestions. Providing you are polite and not shouting about being right without actually knowing anything, then you might be listened to. When you receive an answer, specifically one which regards the technology that underpins the game and your suggestion it might be wise to listen to those who actually have a clue about how these things work.

Come to think of it, where is Audiosurf's EULA?

Fair enough. My apologies, I understand exactly what you're talking about- I just got a little too hotheaded.

Already exists, it's activated by pressing the "quit game" button.

Also, "Visualizer + autopilot" is technically a real 0-player mode

Thanks.
I do understand where you're coming from and that it is very frustrating when you see two games with similar base mechanics and one keeps on adding things and the other appears dead. It sucks and as I said, multi-player would be awesome, but it's Dylan's choice and he's already given us a game worth (a lot) more than we paid for it so it's understandable if he doesn't feel like adding these updates.

On the other hand, Dylan if you're reading this, rebuild the engine and add multi-player, please. :D ;)
