Video Card: MSI 8600GT 512mb

Ehh, that card is kind of bad. 8600GT < 7900GS

I can't even play it without it lagging all over the place.
Does it really matter?  It generally runs fine for me, and I'm using an integrated card.

Things like what?  The fact that there are people trying to play games on these things?
I've got a card coming in the mail...

No, that you can run it fine without a graphics card, and my 512MB x1650 pro card cannot.

What are those forceware drivers? Some sort of alternative to the official drivers?

Well, "fine" as in not fullscreen, lowest graphics settings, long load times (although not for the analyzing), and lag if anything else is going on, but yeah.
Also, this is my 42nd post.

Ok, I've found what was causing my very slow fps.

Thanks to Lim Dul for the hotfix links, unfortunately didn't work for me, so I installed older graphics drivers 169.25 (was using 169.28), and ran then. Ran faster but not much faster.

Disabling SLI was the crucial link. Audiosurf has a REAL problem with SLI, and disabling it causes a steady 60 fps most of the time, although the beta is still better optimized than the new version. Disabling SLI on the beta also gives a boost, so this is definately what is causing the problem for me. I realise that people using SLI will be in the huge minority, but a fix would be much appreciated, as atm I have to keep on switching between modes if I want to play any other game, eg COD2, which somehow maintains a solid 60 fps at 1920x1200 at max settings, something audiosurf just can't seem to do...  ???

Success! Guess I spoke too soon  ;)

I mistakenly thought that Audiosurf.exe was the program that displayed the game, but it turns out to be Questviewer I think. I quick trip into the Nvidia Display Panel, setting Questviewer.exe to force Single-GPU seems to have done the trick. Never dropped below 50 in a song I just played. Very happy!

To all others who are still getting problems, try changing your display drivers, because the latest version of Audiosurf really disagreed with mine. Good luck!  :)

DremoraLord - maybe instead of downgrading the drivers UPgrading them is the way to go? If you're using Vista32, then you could use these puppies:

http://downloads.guru3d.com/Forceware-173.65-Vista-beta-(32-bit)-download-1846.html

I applied both the first hotfix and new drivers and honestly, I don't know what did the trick for me  - the hotfix or the drivers. =)

What drivers were you using before?

I'm sure it was the drivers for me, hotfixes are nice to have to be sure, but did nothing when I tested after installing them.

As for the drivers, well my game works now, so I'll stick with the drivers I've got!

EDIT: Also says not recommended for SLI Users, so I'll wait for official release on Nvidias website.

I was using 169.25 or 169.28, just like you so maybe you should give the 173.65 drivers a go since they are said to improve the performance in many other games as well.

I get quick loading times, and play on the lowest graphic setting, but I do not get really good FPS, I don't understand how on board video can be doing better than my rig.

What video card do you have? Nvidia seems the worst affected, and I suspect that the drivers are to blame.
