The official application for the tournament!

Extract all the files in one folder, then follow these instructions to successfully use the application:

• To play:

1 ) Set a location to extract the music to (this can be anywhere with write access, for example My Documents)
2 ) Download the .crf file following the link in the news.
3 ) Click "Extract," navigate to where you downloaded the .crf file and select it.
4 ) Go to the "login" tab and enter your Audiosurf username and password.
5 ) Start Audiosurf (either manually or using the world tournament app).
6 ) When Audiosurf gets to the character-select screen then click "Connect."
7 ) Click back in Audiosurf. <-- Play button might not appear until you do this.
8 ) Select your character in the world tournament application.
9 ) Click "Play" in the world tournament application.

IMPORTANT!

You MUST use the application when changing characters (this means step 8 and 9) or your score WILL be lost, which will be very sad

• To logout:

If you want to logout (say, two friends are playing on the same PC and use different accounts), you can:

• click "Log Out" on Audiosurf's webpage using the embedded browser
• right-click on your nickname on the Main tab and select "Log out"
• right click anywhere on the "Log out" tab and select "Log out"
• right-click on your nickname on the Feedback tab and select "Log out"

All those are valid ways to log out!

Have some comments about the tournament? Want to recommend a song or have a feature request for the application? This is the easiest way to send us your ideas!

Login as described above, then click the "Feedback" tab, select one of the following categories:

• Site
• Application
• Songs
• General
• Suggest a song

fill in all the required fields, answer the human check question, click "Send" and done! An e-mail will arrive to the person specified at the top of the tab containing your feedback!

Good day ViRUS, i hope the following post won't be considered as spam/offtopic but still..

1) Is it possible to post song suggestions here in the thread?
2) Is it possible a specific "song" tournament to be forced with a specific character?
3) Is it possible to add a preview (to hear it) the song you are about to play in AS?
4) Is it a good idea to make the app to start up with windows (as an option) and to notify you for a specific new song tournament, or this is not planned at all?

By using the app, we can add them to a db and find the most suggested etc which would be more useful than counting loads of posts.

The tournament is open to all characters so forcing just one character would go against this.

Possible, though not probable.

'Specific' ? Each week will have a new song and will be announced in the news (tournament news).

1) Is it possible to post song suggestions here in the thread?

It's better for us if you use the application. That way we can build a database and see which songs are suggested the most without having to read through lots of posts. (basically, what h3x said).

Currently we have no way of forcing a specific character for a song. And that would defeat the purpose of the character-splitted scoreboards anyway, we built this app so you don't have to worry about getting lower scores if you want to play Ninja Mono, e.g.

This is something we'd have to talk with the bands, since some of them may not want people to be able to hear the song unless they're playing it (some bands even told us that they wouldn't participate unless we used a password to protect the .CSF file).

This shouldn't be hard to implement at all... Maybe once the app goes live and I fix most of the bugs that'll pop up (no matter how much beta test you've done, there will always be some bugs left ), I can start adding new features like that one.

Probably a few weeks. If it lasted forever, there would be no winner.

I can't even do that - it gives me "This Application Is Not Available" and exits.

Please note that the application is not available for use yet, it's available to download just so you guys don't kill the forum's server on the 27th and can start playing as soon as the first round is announced.
