Removing central visualizer
« on: July 09, 2010, 01:03:20 pm »
I am asking here to whether it is possible to remove the music visualizer in the centre of the screen, the one which pushes white dots in a circle. The reason for this is that I find it very irritating on intensive songs (my entire library is intensive) in contrast to the rest of the graphics engine.

Not quite sure what you mean, though you can reduce the graphics settings in the options menu.

On the black background and premium graphic setting there is a music 'visualizer' in the centre of the screen the pushes white dots or blobs outward from the centre. It does not appear on lower graphic settings, but i would no wish to do this. Would there be a way to remove it individually.

A screenshot would help a lot.

If you can imagine hundreds of those effectively making the screen quite fuzzy.

Does that happen on Grey background as well, or only Black?

The effect exists on both grey and black premium settings. I would jsut like to know if this is an effect that is able to be removed in the game files or replaced with a 'blank' one.

I've played on premium for years and never noticed those, and I play pretty heavy songs.

If they annoy you, try dropping to minimal, this removes pretty much all the eye candy

Yeah, it seems like a normal particle to me... I haven't noticed those at all before, and I'm not even sure if they are really normal particles, but they are definitely not removable through texture editing.

Theyre not a texture, or at least, arent replaceable as such. I tried removing them long ago too; the only way to do so (aside from editing core parts of the game, anyway) is to use normal or minimal settings- something thats worked out fine for me, since i wanted to remove almost every other piece of eye candy as well, and those dots arent the only thing that cant be disabled on enhanced and premium modes.

Nevertheless, itd probably be nice to get full control over every component of the onscreen visuals in some future update.

I got annoyed by an effect too, but got used to it later.

Just keep on playing and they'll stop bothering you.

But aside from that, I still do +1 to the advanced settings.

I tend to play on premium, though hardly ever notice the eye candy. Getting that way with beat Hazard as well.

Well, not much choice on beat hazard unless you want to eat a hard 30% score cut.

And while you can see all the relevant stuff (ships, bullets, poweups etc) through the eye candy, it can sometimes feel excessive nonetheless on insane mode.

Yeah, it's pretty insane on Insane. Go figure why.

I've known about the dancing trees being complained about before, not the small particles though. Still, minimal removes them,
