IE6 better than everything else?

The bank's therefore decided its online baking services will continue to support aging the IE 6 but drop support for Chrome and Opera.

Bizarre that people are still holding on to IE6. Even when it's very obvious updating it to even IE7 would significantly improve an IT system because 6 is so terribly slow.

What is even more peculiar is that if you stick to the standards, Firefox, Chrome, Opera and even the rash that is Safari will all work perfectly and IE8 is in with a good chance of working in that situation as well. But as long as places like banks tell their customers it's ok to use the standards and security disaster that is IE6, it will remain in common use.

I have a suspicion someone not tech-savvy and not realising the shares situation wrote the IE6 statement though.

It's not, as stated in the article it's got no protection against many of the attacks that have appeared in the last few years on the web.
It's easily the least secure browser around.

I find it funny that banks will tell you they will not refund fraud victims if you are using out of date software, and then do this.

Anyway, if indeed Chase was being paid by Microsoft to spew about IE, than why has Microsoft been trying to get IE6 updated on so many computers? Something doesn't add up here...
