All of the various LEGO games.
Super Mario Brothers X (it's a fangame, but whatever) has multiplayer.

Trine does have local multiplayer support; however, it is a little tricky to find (you have to enable the controllers first).
[EDIT:] I realized that I forgot to mention that multiplayer can only work if you have a controller (controller+keyboard/mouse setup, 2 controllers, 3 controllers, 2 controllers + 1 keyboard/mouse). Apparently double keyboard/mouse support is being patched in soon though...

Also:
Blur (heard splitscreen multiplayer is still kind of iffy)
Heroes of Might and Magic Series

Looks interesting, might give that a go

I have an ancient gamepad and joystick, neither are of any use today.
Thus it's just keys n mouse. I'm looking for casual type two player games, nothing serious.

The problem with keyboards for multiplayer is that many old and/or cheap keyboards only allow for 3-4 keys to be pushed at once, which makes it very hard for there to be more than 1 player at the computer (or even one, in some games).
Oddly, it's something that cropped up on PCs only whereas other platforms from the 80s and 90s allow for far more keys to be pushed. I've a ton of old RISC OS games that are 2-player (or even, in one case, 8-player) on a single keyboard.

Oh, talking of those old games, a port from RISC OS to PC and Linux of Spheres of Chaos: http://www.spheresofchaos.com/
Kind of like Asteroids on LSD. Lot of fun. And that's the 8-player one I was thinking of as well. One player can be on mouse, but it's hard to control.

Any game from the Worms series
S.C.A.R.S.
Serious Sam First Encounter (perhaps 2nd too, and HD i'm not sure about)

Also fun is:
Just take a fps like half life
One person controls the keyboard walking, jumping, crouching, using with keyboard. Other person controls aiming and shooting using the mouse.

Hehe. I remember playing it back in the early 90s on <50MHz machines.
You can turn a lot of the more annoying effects off in the Visual menu. Set the background to "Plain" for instance.
Also, it seems to break on Win7 for some reason, the colours are wrong. :(

I didn't know it was broken, I just couldn't see anything for the mass of multicoloured moving things. The main menu was pretty hard to see

Guitar Hero (not advised as the pc version is bugged like hell and costs you twelve times as much as AS)

I wasn't even aware that there was a PC version of Guitar Hero...
