Funny prank
« on: May 12, 2010, 08:39:28 am »
Just run the app and press the Y or the F11 key, depending on which .exe you download.

Have fun! :)

Broken screen:
This one activates when you press F11
This one activates when you press the Y key

BSOD:
This one activates when you press F11
This one activates when you press the Y key

It would be nice if there was a better method for closing it than Alt-F4ing...

Doe sit do anything more than the initial display?

What did you do, write it in VB6 then statically link in the image libraries? :P

nope, it just shows the image

I created several .jpg images with different resolutions so it won't look stretched under most circumstances :P
it "supports" the following resolutions: 1024x600, 1024x768, 1280x800, 1280x1024, 1440x900, 1920x1080 and 1680x1050

Should've just gone for 1024x768 and clipped. ;)

Or, since the entire background is a repeating pattern, split it into 2, repeatedly blit the background then overlay the foreground.

Or, if you're feeling extra finicky, do it all by hand using the .NET image library. ;)

Good point.

You might want to replace the current image with a BSOD.

I think it's a pretty accurate image, although the circumstances in which it pops up might be a bit of a clue.  Especially realistic on a 1920 X 1080 monitor.

Had tried with transparency so you could see your stuff behind, though didn't work as well, and the image was loads larger
