Your Favourite Track(s)
« on: April 19, 2010, 05:43:47 pm »
Question: Which Track(s) are your favourite ones on AS? Possibly differ between characters. Also tell WHY.

Ansers:

Mono
Dragonforce - Black Fire As far as I know the highest traffic melodic metal song. Still working on getting the perfect mono score there. For a short time I was even in the Top 11 Scoreboard with this Mono Score, but it passed after the update actually started to work ^^ And the finale is about the most intense part I have played so far. It's the perfect speed for me, not too easy but usually a stealth and it really suits my block-cutting system to prolongue the chain.

Pusher - Hard one and actually depending on my mood several candidates. Couldn't decide between them.
Rhapsody - Emerald Sword - Shortest one, just suits me, first time I beat Lu Tze and first time I got over 1500 Skill. Lots of green and yellow, average speed and huge matches possible. Also one of the first songs I was able to chain through.
Iced Earth - Come What May - Low Traffic and with pusher, definitly not more than 750k possible, even with incredible luck. metaLsurfeR got higher traffic AND used Pointman to outdo me. You have to change the strategy in every part for a good result and there are two very bad chainkillers in there. Actually did it once to gap both, don't know how and didn't help either ^^
Avantasia - The Seven Angels - Very Long, Low Traffic but for a relaxing ride, it's the best I've found so far. And the Music... Well if you don't like any vocals on THAT track, stop listening to music, you won't find better vocalists at the same place again.
Freedom Call – Out of the Ruins – I knew it when I first heard the song: High Traffic coming up. 302 traffic on elite IM actually. All that with high intensity and a very complex block layout. It's the perfect example for my pusher skills still needing a lot of work, it's too fast and has too many blocks for a huge score.

Why hasn't this thread been made before?! >.>
Anyway great idea saeda ;D

Eraser/Pusher:
Paul Oakenfold - Hypnotised - Smooth ride, easy to make big single colour matches without much thought given to chaining
Aphex Twin - Vordhosbn - Far from smooth, the percussion makes this an intense ride, really worth tracking this one down :)
Scissor Sisters - Comfortably Numb 200 traffic mostly uphill, and the song moves along at a slow enough pace but still possible to only go for big yellow/red matches with eraser and chain nearly the whole thing.
Dirty Harry - Fools Worth a mention, very like slam by pendulum but closer to 300 traffic, real shame no-one's discovered this one yet
Chemical Brothers - Escape Velocity Awesome track for audiosurf, great for pusher too
Pulp - Common People Classssic =D  Realy awesome for eraser.
Ayumi Hamasaki - A Song For Xx [Ferry Corsten Chilled Mix] Nice chilled ride, traffics heavy for how chilled the song is, managed to chain it all with eraser first run =)
High Contrast - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Fun, hectic dnb song
Andrew Wk - Party Hard Fun, fast party-rock song. also check out "we want fun" if this is your kinda thing ;)

Pointman:
Johnossi - Man Must Dance very enjoyable for pointman, slow uphill broken up by some nice bumpy downhill sections
The Beatles - A day in the life Do i need to say any more?
The Troggs - Wild Thing Another classic :D, i've been honing my pointman skills on this one, it's not too slow and not too fast. Oopla's gonna be playing this one on his live stream next sunday(BE THERE!), hopefully i'll see what i need to do to improve my pointmanning then :D

Invasion Of The Gabber Robots - The Laziest Men On Mars what can I say? Zero Wing was a great game with a great soundtrack!

I'm kinda stuck with mono mode so far. But for this character, i'd say:
Fatboy Slim - Ya Mama -- plenty of blocks at immense speed; this one is radical!

Solid Sessions - Janeiro (Armin van Buuren Remix) -- 10 minutes of red tunnels, about 360 traffic, maybe the highest scoring potential i've seen this far.

New Order - Confusion (Pump Panel Reconstruction Mix) -- Blood bath!!! Legendary status, simple as that. The way this track builds up intensity towards the home stretch is epic.

Several tracks by Black Sun Empire are awesome to ride as well.

Anything touched by Armin van buuren turns to absolute gold in audiosurf!
Also for casual mono the best song i've found has been Purpose Unknown by Mikael Sjoberg http://www.audio-surf.com/song.php?t=popular#3348003.
Melodic trance, similar to some of armins stuff.
Traffic's close to 400 and in 7 mins you can score well over 1million points with casual mono, beat that ;D

That really sounds tempting...i'll give it a shot. Now i only need to find this song ;)

EDIT: Okay, got it, but i can't tag it properly. Seems like i need a hand.  ???

This is mostly because I like the songs, but the tracks are nice:

"Sonne" by Rammstein
"Dare To Be Stupid" by Weird Al
"SOS" by ABBA
"Won't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" by Nik Kershaw

My favorites:
Perpetual by VNV Nation (current casual champ)
Momentum by Mindless Faith
Lament for Lost Dreams by Mind.In.A.Box.
Shelter by Icon of Coil
Saviour by VNV Nation
Forever Darkness by Manufactura
Gateway by Negative Format

EBM is great for this game! Some noise is good too like Manufactura, Rosewater, Terrorfakt.

Try some Netsky-songs in Pusher, except for some chainkillers they are awesome.

Surprisingly, Owl City's Umbrella Beach is pretty cool to play on any Mono. Most people know him for just fireflies, but he's got some better stuff than that.

I love tracks which are smooth and fast, not a ton of blocks, but nonetheless speedy. Violins seem to create this effect. It feels like driving down a fast empty highway in a Ferrari with the wind running through my hair 8)

So far, "Dance in the Dreams" (from Professor Layton)
http://www.audio-surf.com/song.php#8436386

and "New Age" (from the Incredible Machine: Contraptions)
http://www.audio-surf.com/song.php#8596124

are two of my faves :D

I don't now if we're allowed to link to YouTube here, but it does have both if y'all wanna listen :)
