GiZm, VMutube crashes after getting the audio and video .flv's, right after creating final.flv.....

Can you upload your version of it please?
Try 320x240 if it crashes.

It's ok, I got that working after editing the ffmpeg, but then it mucked up on audio.flv with some errors only leaving me with 1Kb audio, lol.

Feartheflames' tweaking worked though.

I can't use Movie Maker for it's extreme lack of choosing what video you want. I can't use it, because I can only do it, and stretch the video to 640 x 480, when it's 320 x 240, and it turns out horrible.

And I'm having real trouble adding blackness. D:
Can't do it with VirtualDub, and Vegas takes 10 years to render.

Going the free, third-party route, you could append a blank clip using Avisynth.

GiZm, the guide falls apart for me at the publishing bit.

I can't get the video up to 3.1 Mbps, max it goes to is 2.1, and because Movie Maker's compression is so bad, the video quality is pretty bad, and after VMutube, it looks twice as worse as normal.

well, i just found this out, and apparently it works on any youtube video. If you want to watch a video in high-def, just add &fmt=18 to the end of the url. i tested it on two of my videos and boy does it look amazing now. see for yourself!!  http://youtube.com/watch?v=vnqRLjkVQPk and http://youtube.com/watch?v=vnqRLjkVQPk&fmt=18 for comparison. we'll see how long this lasts eh

**oh, it doesn't seem to always work, but i've tested quite a few that do. and i guess it's not really high-def, just less artifacts and sharper image, but it is still good

Looks exactly the same to me.

Anyway, compare YouTube's "high quality" with a video done using this method, and you'll see this method is 100 times better.

really? i get the "watch this video in lower quality" under the video and everything definitely looks sharper. and yeah, i know the other method looks better just thought i'd share. though i guess this probably should've gone under a new topic since its not really video CREATION  Oo

The ZDsoft screen recorder packs a punch on the system. In fact, most screen recorders do. Also, some (CamStudio in particular) do not support full screen. Quite simply, use a game recorder. I like the ZDsoft Game Recorder, but it is not free. Figure.

I made a rough tutorial on how I make my audiosurf videos, geared towards elitists and geeks alike!

It's currently linked through my signature below (Easier for me to make changes there).

Hypercam? Ew. No. Try something else, such as Screen VidShot. At least you can crop out the watermark in that without damaging too much.

hope it works. btw, my PC specs are:
1.5ghz
1gb ram
ati x800xl
xp pro

is that sufficient enough to record? also wanna try the HQ flv thing...
