What codec did you choose? Have you installed any codecs or codec packs?

I chose DivX 6.8.4.  It came with the K-Lite Codec pack.

I dunno then, was never partial to K-Lite, it was all screwy for me. Try XviD?

I still got an error message, but this time with an error code (-100).

But, I think I found a working codec and the video remains functional and the audio in sync.

Iccy, when I try to record with WeGame, when I press the hotkey, the stereo mix gets selected when the microphone should be (is that supposed to happen?) and wherever the level slider is, it jumps back to the default position.  The result is a loud sound with some audible distortion.

I would really like help with this, please.

1. WeGame sucks ass. Use Fraps.

2. Why do you want it on microphone? You'll only have the sound of your breathing, or nothing at all...

But, here's the thing: I play AudioSurf in a sized-down window and not fullscreen; it reduces lag.

I fail to see what that has to do with anything...

Doesn't fraps record everything in the whole area of the computer screen?  Am I wrong?

No, it only records a single window.

I recently upgrade my comp to Vista from XP and now every time I use V-Dub and attempt to save the file as AVI, I get this error.

I have followed all the instructions on the first page, except that I cannot get into "Sound Recorder" because the sound recorder on Vista doesn't give me any options to change.

What are you trying to compress the audio to?

I compress it with 22050 Hz 32 Kbps ABR Mono

But, I have tried different formats too, none of them seem to work.

What codec?

I recommend you use LAME at 128Kbps. To use LAME in VirtualDub, you need: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/LAME_ACM_Codec.htm

I installed that codec you sent but I still get the same error message. Maybe the problem started from somewhere else, Maybe in Fraps while recording?
