Full Gamepad Support? (Menus)
« on: February 15, 2008, 05:02:57 pm »
Any-chance of adding full gamepad support to the game? By that I mean the ability to navigate the menus with a gamepad. I have my wired 360 bad and i'd love to lie in bed and play the game however I obviously cant if i keep having to stand up to pick a song and navigate the menus.

Also even when normally playing its nice to relax in your chair and just play the game with a gamepad completely rather than having to mess around switching to the mouse.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. At least make the start button pause the game.

Agreed, it's annoying having to take your hands off the controller and use the mouse. It can't be too hard to add controller support for the menus and pause.

I'd like this too. It annoys me that I have to remove my hands from the gamepad in order to start the next song.
Making the Start button pause the game is also needed.

I am utterly, utterly stunned that it doesn't have gamepad support built in... STUNNED!

I bought this game during pre release, and have used it using mouse all that time, all well and good.

But I just installed it on my media pc in the lounge so my kids can play it using our gamepad... no luck. I didn't even think it worth looking as how could you not have gamepad support, this is a game just crying out for it, virtually no controls, simple menus... COME ON!

I think mentioned in another thread is a program called Joy2Key.

I haven't found a terribly comfortable way to set it up for DV, but it works quite well for all the other modes.  You still can't really control the game menu with it unless you assign mouse functions to one of your POV sticks and such, but you can bind the Start key to Esc easily enough.  I play anything but DV pretty much with the joypad exclusively.  Until they add full pad support  ( which I'm sure they will eventually ) this might be your ticket.

Because our beloved programmers might have forgotten it, and because joy2key should not be an option (it doesn't help anyway),

Bump.
