AUDIOSURF-ING ON STEAM

IGF Front-Runner Now Available for Pre-Purchase, Includes Orange Box Soundtrack

February 11, 2008 - Audiosurf, Dylan Fitterer's innovative new title that allows gamers to "ride their music," is now available for pre-purchase via Steam.
Audiosurf on Steam will include The Orange Box soundtrack, integrated with the game to enable "Still Alive" surfing and more. In addition, Audiosurf is one of the first titles to leverage the recently announced Steamworks, offering full support for the Steam Achievements that appear on the millions of Steam Community profile pages.
The title, which is a favorite to win at this year's Independent Games Festival, will be made available for play this Friday, February 15. Those who pre-purchase prior to that time will save 10% off the regular price of $9.95.
Audiosurf is a music-adapting puzzle racer where you use your own music to create your own experience. The shape, the speed, and the mood of each ride is determined by the song you choose. You earn points for clustering together blocks of the same color on the highway, and compete with others on the internet for the high score on your favorite songs.

Well I am hoping it's released apart from steam as well.  I have never used Steam and I will never use steam for anything but this so I guess it just seems like a lot of hassle for just the one game :/

That is /AWESOME/.

In my opinion, that was the /best/ thing you could possibly do for AudioSurf.

Its very cool to bundle all that stuff together, following the Orange Box's mantra. Its obvious that Valve loves their indie games and will step up to support them! Very cool.

Anyone who doesn't use Steam.... how can you live with not having played the HL2 series?! or Portal?! :o

I doubt my computer could run either.  Don't want to play Half-life anyways but I would like to play Portal one day.

Nice find. It's just weird that the announcement isn't on www.steampowered.com yet, and that it's not in the Coming Soon section.

Hmm, this message kind of implies we can "pre-order" the game.. when and where? I'm looking around in my steam app but can't find it :( I wanna buy! :D

If you havent played either hl2 of portal then you cant call yourself a gamer? And if you pirated them then youre a dick!
