Anybody play WoW?
« on: February 13, 2010, 01:50:25 am »

Is that even possible?
Audiosurf is like a mix of tetris, need for speed and pot... Look at all the colours, dude!

No Idea, since WoW is not interesting to anyone actually playing for the game, it takes his advantage from human greed, "i payed to play for a month, if i stop playing now, that months payment is lost. And to make the most of the money, i have to play as much as possible". Prehistoric Graphics, monotone storyline, too many extremely agressive players ("powergamers", playing for the sole purpose of "winning" without seeing the fun in it anymore)... WoW has enough arguments for me to never even try it.

Guild Wars ftw :P

Tried it. Found it boring.
Same goes for Guild Wars. It's sat there in my Steam account but I've not spent more than a few hours on it.
I just don't like MMOs. Will stick with single-player RPGs, I enjoy those a lot more.

I tried WoW for the 15 day trial, I spent longer installing and downloading the patches than playing it.

WoW is my "I'm so fucking BORED" game. Main reason I have any enjoyment in it whatsoever is someone else is paying for it.

And I half-cheated starting out - a friend of mine happens to be an uber WoW nerd, so I asked him "OK, how the fuck do I play this?" and BAM, I pretty much know what I'm doing!

I ran my own server for a while and I've tried the trial. I actually found I enjoyed it more single player on my own server.
I'm just not a group person. I don't enjoy playing with folk over the internet much.

Well that's great. Let me give you a quick point... If you make a killing blow, that counts as an honourable kill... Although, the answer just occured to me. And WoW is great if you don't pay to play it (I mean on a Blizz server) and if you have friends to play it with. I tried guild wars, but... I don't know. Not enough competition.

I know a fee who played WoW and they got me to try it, though, it just didn't grab me.
The lack of story or anything worthwhile in it bored me.

Guild Wars is pretty much dead if you're looking to play it competitively. Most top players have gone, so all you have left is a small PvP population, so finding matches in high level play takes too long. There's still plenty of action in the less organized modes of play though.

Guild Wars had better PvP back in its prime than WoW did though, I will say.
