OK, bonjour tout le monde.
J'ai traduit en français le fichier XML anglais qui est à racine du dossier LANGUAGE PACK (Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\audiosurf\engine\LanguagePacks\).  Ce fichier XML est attaché à ce message.

Je sais qu'il faut que je modifie le dossier EN qui est dans le dossier TEXTURE du dossier LANGUAGE PACK mais je suis TRÈS mauvais à Photoshop et m'obliger à modifier ce dossier donnerait un résultat catastrophique à moins que Dylan ou quelqu'un d'autre me donne ce dossier avec des images sans texte et de même dimension.

Pour ce qui est des vidéos, il y en a qu'un seul qui a besoin d'être trauit et c'est le vidéo nommé "StarterVideo.wmv".  Il y a plusieurs façon de le traduire :
- Ajouter des sous-titres
- Doubler (dubber) le vidéo
- Refaire la bande sonore en français.

Moi-même, j'opterais pour les sous-titres car je trouve cela plus utile et plus facile.  Mais il y a un problème : même si mon anglais écrit peut être considérée comme très bien, mon écoute et mon parlé ont besoin de pratique.  Ou est-ce seulement parce que la musique enterre Dylan?

De toute façon, s'il y a des personnes plus douée que moi en modification d'image et voudrais les modifier en les traduisant, ça serait génial!!  S'il y a une personne qui m'offerait le dossier de texture à traduire mais VIERGE, ça serait très bien aussi.

Maintenant pour les notes de traductions...

* "Casual" a été traduit en "Détendu"... ça peut paraître bizarre mais croyez-le ou non, c'est une traduction littéraire.  J'ai juger bon de le laisser ainsi
* "Clean Finish" a été traduit en "Grille Finale Vide".  "Fin Propre" (traduction littérale) ne faisait aucun sens.
*"Cluster" a été traduit en "groupe".  Même si ça fait bizarre, c'est, d'après moi, la meilleure traduction disponible.
*Le conseil à propos de la manette d'XBox360 contient ce texte : "Use the shoulder triggers in place of mouse clicks."  Je ne savais pas comment traduire "shoulder triggers" donc j'ai opté pour dire "Utiliser les boutons L1, L2, R1, R2 à place des clics de souris." ce qui revient à la même chose mais en plus long.
* Encore dans les conseils, cette fois-ci à propos des contrôles avancés sur clavier, pour les personnes vivant en France, elles ont des clavier AZERTY donc rend ASDF faux.  Ce que j'ai fait, c'est que j'ai mis ASDF/QSDF.  Cela représente les 2 types claviers.  Aussi Tilde n'a pas de traduction, mais de toute façon, ce n'est pas un ~ à gauche du 1 sur un clavier français (canada) ou français (france) : c'est #.  Voilà le pourquoi de #/1/2/3/4
Etc.

OK, hi everyone.

I translated in French the English XML file that was at the root of the LANGUAGE PACK folder (Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\audiosurf\LanguagePacks\).  This XML file was attached to this message.

I kknow for a fact that I need to modify the folder EN which is in the TEXTURE folder of the LanguagePack folder but I am VERY bad at Photoshop et forcing myself to modify this folder will give catastrophic results except if Dylan or another person give me this folder with textless images with the same dimension.

For the videos, there is only one that needs to be translated and that is the video called "StarterVideo.wmv".  There is multiple way to translate it :
- Add subtitles
- Dub the video
- Remake the soundtrack

Myself, I would opt for subtitles because I think this is more useful et also easier.  But there is a problem : even if my written English can be considered very good, my listening and speaking needs practice.  Or is it because the musique burries Dylan?

Anyway, if there is people that are more talented than me in image modifying et would like to modify them while translating, that would be awesome!!  If there is a person that would offer me the folder with the textures to translate but VIRGIN, that would be cool too.

Now, translation notes...

*"Casual" has been translated to "Détendu"... that can sound weird but believe it or not, that is a litteral translation.  I thought it was better to let it that way.
* "Clean Finish" has been translated to "Grille Finale Vide". "Fin Propre" (litteral translation) doesn't make any sense.

*Again in the tips, this time about Advanced Keyboard controls, for the people who lives in France, they have AZERTY keyboards.  So, ASDF isn't right anymore.  What I did is put ASDF/QSDF.  This represents both keyboard types.  Also, Tilde doesn't have a translation, but anyway, that isn't a ~ at the left of 1 on a French (Canada) or French (France) keyboard : it's a #.  That is why the #/1/2/3/4

Etc.

So, if you want to propose better translations or rewrite a few lines, post a message in this discussion thread.  It would be a pleasure for me to update the file.

im decent at retouching images but im bad at French i really olny understand enough to read it and cant really effectively speak or write French. and what i knew is from 6 years ago from the Canadian school system.

but if you can let me know what images need to be translated and there translations i could retouch them fro you.

oh and by the way your written English is excellent i would of never known from previous forum posts that it is not your main language.

I used Paint.NET for translating the textures, it was much easier than using Photoshop would, maybe you'd like to give it a try?

Oh, and as for the StarterVideo, you have to say this:

"In Audiosurf you score points by making colour clusters of at least three blocks, like this blue one. Or this violet one.

Clusters can be in any shape as long as at least three blocks of the same colour are touching.

Here I'm making a blue cluster with four, five, six, seven blocks.

You get more points the bigger a cluster is and you also get more points by hot colours like red, see that red cluster got me a huge 789 points.

Audiosurf builds an unique track for each song you play, when the music is mellow the track steps upward, when the music gets intense the track rushes down and traffic gets thicker.

Here I'm making a huge blue cluster that will get me over 3000 points."

I translated the video using Windows Movie Maker (the one that comes with Windows XP), first I silenced the video, then started talking using the "Narration" feature, saved the video with just my voice, re-opened it and added Audiosurf Overture as a separated MP3 file and lowered down its volume.

Oh, and remember that you also have to translate the following files (you must speak too, if you have problems understanding what lebeth says, just tell me and I'll write you a script just like the above one ):

Oh and, by the way, I prefer people having experience with photo edition... I can do some stuff (mainly creating) but I can't edit well...

i search a lot of font and the closest i came was deja vu sans so im just going to use that anyway.
besides the size has the change dues to longer translations. and if i do all of theses elements with the new font it will look fine.

Just a note: The shoulder triggers are called LB, LT, RB and RT on the 360 pad. Either L is good for left button and same for R and right.

if you send me the audio tracks for that i can try to clean the voice up a bit and compress it to make to more clear.

^ What I did is, I Stereo Mixed the original audio track and removed the voice using an effect ("Central Canal Extractor") then recorded to WAV the result.
Then, I translated the script then recorded the translation in parts so I could time it with the vid.  Then, I opened up Sony Vegas.  Put the original vid.  Muted the original audio track.  Then added my tracks and sped up some a little to time them.

If you still want to have the audio track...  I'll send it later.

(P.S I used Adobe Audition 1.5 for all audio editing & recording)
