I guess spambots must find them useful. Looking at the "iAd" crap that Apple are pushing in v4 of the iPhone/etc OS I can see why. ;)

Apple = fashion accessory

People pay for this fashion accessory, and like all 'designer' fashion, it's over priced. Though no amount of money is considered enough, so all the extra revenue is welcome, like selling people things which should have been there from the start, and slapping ads all over it.

promanz is a spambot, as I pointed out to h3x. :P
Look at the sig. Links to "dental marketing" and "otc stocks"?

Spambots would have a love-in with Apple's iAd service, hence them wanting an iPad as well. ;)

Heh, I was just sure it's another Apple fanperson. It's often hard to tell a difference between a fantard and a spambot. Actually, one might claim that the spambot has more of a timeless classy charm about it whereas the fanboy is characterized by it's innate ability to make anyone want to punch them in the face... and then some.

iAd just seems to get worse and worse. Seems Apple filed a software patent (sigh) last year that keeps advertisements on the phone for a set period of time, interrupting whatever you're doing at the time and stays there until you do something to prove you've looked at it...
http://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2009/10/apple-prepares-to-rock-the-market-with-hardware-subsidizing-program.html

Will people really put up with this?  :-\
I have a bad feeling they will, I mean most will put up with over 25% of their TV time being packed with adverts (I won't, it's one of the main reasons I don't watch TV except for the occasional bit of BBC), what's the occasional 60 seconds when using a mobile device?

I read about that as well, though people who buy into the iProduct aren't the sort who read up on their products or make comparisons over functions. So they'll probably buy it anyway.

Well, once my contract ends, I am going for either the Nexus One (like the noise cancellation and voice search... besides, it's Google, so, guess which device will get the new Android sooner? :D ) or Desire.

Interestingly enough, I did some research before getting the 3G. And for nearly a year all the glamour and hype overshadowed the downsides. But lately I've just been so pissed off that I can't even fathom how I managed to live with it for so long... plus the latest developments.

If I watched TV I probably wouldn't mind the 25% of the time being ads, since I can just do other stuff meanwhile (well, I think I wouldn't, the truth is I don't quite watch TV for a few years now), but I see no way, literally, no way how I could put up with any time what so ever of ads on my phone, especially ones that can't be closed or gotten rid of any other way.

Hmm, shuffle up the iAds letters (or just switch the 2 in the front) and you'll get the true name of what's in there.
