It's unfortunate, but the only valid thing to do is nerf it and leave it mostly as a "for fun" character much like Mono.
This man is correct. Plus, I think other changes should be made to Vegas (as I mentioned in the other thread) to make it even more enjoyable AS a "for fun" mode.

While Mincus is right; I would hate to have Vegas regulated back to a "fun only"/"gimped" mode. Vegas has always been Fun for me to play and I've always tried competing against the other characters with it while building up my own strategies for the character since i think it has the potential to compete especially after the big update that allowed it to compete more against Pusher/Pointman/Eraser.

I'd like to see it balanced out so it can still compete against Pusher/Pointman/Eraser/DV Pro without being too threatening to those classes and not just regulated to a fun only mode and have [as-vegasonly] tags made for it.

Yeah, I agree with that. Certainly strong Vegas players such as yourself, GeoLuz, or Zukeroo should beat weaker pointman or pusher players - though I think that situation is pretty close to how it was before the rebalance.

I'd like to see it compete, would be a shame to be fun only. Though should be more of a struggle between a good point/pusher/eraser and vegas for a throne

Gee, what's with all the hostility of late? I don't care if it's nerfed or buffed or whatever. Firstly, there must be some skill involved because you need to get a good chain for your points to count, and paints, shuffling and colour match buffs are a great way of breaking your chain. Secondly, all I was saying is that I seem to suck with Vegas while other people are good at it. This doesn't mean it needs to be nerfed, it doesn't mean it's purely luck based, it means that I'm not good with it and some people are.

Nevertheless, those people should be shot.

If you look, the discussion about Vegas being imba compared to the other pro characters has existed since the balance patch. (Check Lethargy's links - most, if not all, of the top players believe it to be imbalanced in its current form). It isn't entirely luck based, but it is much easier to get a better score on Vegas than other characters. The other characters have steeper learning curves and overall take more skill at higher levels in order to compete, IMO.

Also, a random comment - I miss the no chain stepdown in Pro...lol.

Granted Vegas takes some skill, for a start it's easy to overfill if you collect anything and hope the shuffle will sort things out. Though Vegas doesn't require the same level of skill as the other puzzles, which is the issue at hand here. I am not being bitter about Vegas because I think character X should be better, but because it's score potential is miles higher than harder-to-learn characters.
There is no reason why Vegas should be pushed to 'fun only' and to give the game more depth Vegas should compete.
I agree with both Hammer and Lethargy on nerfing Vegas, but only to make the game more interesting. With a range of characters and strategies, competing for a throne is more enjoyable.

Once again, the simple solution is to split the scoreboards.

I can't fathom why this is such a problem for some people.

Then again I'm only a Vegas player...

maybe filterers so you can olny look at one character or remove charters from the board but i would never want separate boards per character.

Competing against other characters is part of it though, and removing that would be a bad idea. A board split is just an easy way out which just hides the issue. You'll loose the cross character play-offs which imo will ruin the competition aspect of the game.

Adding a mono filter worked fine; the cross character global board (and competition) was unaffected. No reason the same wouldnt work for all characters.
