The re-submit button is elusive, the connection has to die at just the right point for it to appear, sadly it doesn't seem to appear when this bug surfaces. :(

Would there be any drawback to it always appearing? Doesn't seem like it could do any harm for someone to click it to re-submit an already logged score (unless this would update the timestamp on that score or otherwise alter it. Again, caching within the game could fix that.)

I'm not sure, maybe. There is a small possibility of using it to cheat, although if you were that determined there are easier ways.

I can't get it to show up now anyway. Maybe it got removed, I've not seen it in a long, long while.

Cheating would entail posting a score you didn't actually earn, wouldn't it? The "re-post" button would only enable the re-posting of a score you did earn. Short of getting into the game's code and hacking the file where it stores the scores yet to be uploaded (and yeah, I can imagine easier ways), how would someone exploit this? Could it be exploited by logging in as a different player and then reposting to spam the scoreboards?

I don't really want to go into the details of the how, but it's not difficult to mess about with numbers in memory if you see what I mean.

I understand that it's possible, without understanding exactly how one would do it. I also understand why you wouldn't want to explain exactly how to do this.

It's not the only way, I know of another way, which I won't post the details about either.
It's a fine line between ease of score handling and making too much available for exploit

This topic was created on January 05, today is February 22 and problem still exist. I played single song 3 times in a row to dethrone guy who dethroned me. On 3rd ride I beat him - but score wasn't uploaded. 4th ride - same shit. I'm tired.

I've also lost scores due to this. It might be down to the standard time out for http requests of 30s, though if this is the case, then the game should offer to resubmit if no HTTP response is received, with the inclusion of 404 and 410, possibly 204 and the 500 range.

That happened to me twice last night. Fortunately it was on a song where I didn't have to struggle to squeak in above the high score as it looks like you might have here, but it was still annoying to play it twice, have the high score twice, and not having it get logged. Only restarting Steam completely enabled me to log scores again. We really, really need that Resubmit button.

Damn, I there are 3 fails actually in my post. First fail is that first ride on this song I came up second by loosing couple of easy blocks and didn't had the highscore. Second failure is game not updated my score. And third fail is that I was looking on nearby scores (global highscore is 127600 by now). But anyway, even nearby highscore isn't that bad, isn't it? :)

"Resubmit" would be great. Really.

I hate it when I do that - get overconfident and accidentally grab two out of those last three blocks, forfeiting my clean finish and inevitably putting me a few hundred points below the high score after an otherwise awesome run. Unfortunately, I can't blame the game for that.

But anyway, even nearby highscore isn't that bad, isn't it? :)

Just being on the board would be nice. For me, it's not about the glory of a high score (though this is fun, however fleeting it may often be); it's about confidence that the game functions as intended. When things are broken or performance is spotty, I find myself wanting to play a game less often.

The audio-surf server seems to have gone down for several minutes last night. This underscores my point about the game being able to save scores locally until a point at which they can be successfully uploaded. In this particular case, I didn't lose anything that crucial (just a score on a song no one else had ever played), but right after that, I had a 400k+ run on an 11-minute song that I really wouldn't have wanted to have to play all over again. I know servers go down - it's a way of life on the Internet, and as outages go, this was a pretty short one. I just don't think the player should be penalized for it.
