Use: asbankcam, noroads, nogrey - you can quickly change these using YAAP (yet another audiosurf player)
change the textures, either manually or use ASTMan (audiosurf texture manager)

Search the forum for the above mentioned apps

I've looked all over as well and blue, judging from the video it looks to be a bit more complicated than just simple texture hacking. The area underneath the road is completely different from the regular one and the color doesn't change as much.

I'd also like to know how to get rid of the area underneath the road like in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyLUO5gDhe0

Using noroads just gets rid of the black road and not all the fancy color stuff underneath.

h3x is right, it's just using the tags and options he mentioned then altering the textures. Making the textures for the banks (the bits under the road) 100% transparent should remove them as shown in that second video. If you want the exact textures used you could try contacting the person who made the videos.

Ah, I see. I could've sworn I tried messing with those cliff textures but I guess I did something wrong. Now it's working. Thanks.

Those videos are very cool. Did anyone figure out how they did it? I suppose you could contact the person who uploaded the video, and report back?

lol. That's messing with textures and shit that I don't understand... I think it's cool, but people have put lots of effort into making the game pretty cool as it is. I think that you're going downhill from modifying the game by one or two points. Sorta like having an MMORPG with a million add-ons to look like you're playing a totally different game. No! I don't have a problem with WoWers!
Audiosurf is like a mix of tetris, need for speed and pot... Look at all the colours, dude!

Are you saying you don't agree with texture mods?

That's one of the great things about games these days - they put in a lot of effort, and most people like what comes out of it, but if someone doesn't like it, they can change it!

I used to have a lightsaber model for my crowbar in Half-Life 1.

I see where you're coming from, but I have to disagree.
Audiosurf is a great game, and it would be fine if there was nothing else to it, but Dylan has gone to EXTRA work to encourage add-ons.
It would actually be "going downhill" as you put it to ignore this extra effort and NOT create add-ons.

Nothing is forcing you to use them, but that they're there gives people like me an extra dimension to the game.
I'm REALLY bad at Audiosurf, I play entirely for fun. I also get a lot of enjoyment making add-ons for it though, which is what has kept me interested in it. It's also why I'd like to see an update to some of the add-on stuff, but I understand it isn't a priority. :)

In short, different people enjoy different aspects of the game. Dylan has created a small subculture (including myself, ViRUS, h3x and a heap of others) by creating the add-on interface. It's only a good thing.

It's often the mod community which keeps games alive. No game is ever completely polished, and allowing those who like the game to add their own content, textures, addons is a great way to keep it alive.

I have to agree.   Modding just makes the game that much more fun.  I personally wish I could change the model of some of the ships just for fun.  Look at the DooM community for example.  With the current source ports and tools available, there is no end to what can be done with a game that is over 12 years old.
Focus. Control. Conviction. Resolve. A true ace lacks none of these attributes. Nothing can deter you from the task at hand except your own fears.
