Ok, I just thought I'd join in with you guys doing the same score ^^

Seriously now, at 250 some of you barely get a stealth and at 200, you all get the same score stealth? Now where's the logical thinking in that? ^^

Its all about the block layout. The good thing about high traffic songs (aside from having an execution barrier that causes wide score gaps all on its own) is that they generally dont have an obvious "best" run, even if the player can stealth them every time. The lower the traffic, the higher the likelyhood that the best run is both blatantly obvious and near impossible to screw up, resulting in a board of identical scores.

Should you go ahead with another tournament in the future, id recommend having seperate songs for mono, or custom tags to complicate the lower traffic tracks. Ill also be happy to recommend trance etc that fits the bill.

Agreed, but you still have to think that most Players are barely able to stealth 300+ Traffic songs. I find my maximum at around 400 at the moment. But as I said, the lower traffic songs are very interesting for puzzle players.

Should you go ahead with another tournament in the future, id recommend having seperate songs for mono, or custom tags to complicate the lower traffic tracks. Ill also be happy to recommend trance etc that fits the bill.

I already thought of eliminating Stealth or doing a nogrey run, in that case collecting grays or leaving certain blocks for bigger matches could pose a challenge even at low traffic songs. But that would further complicate the tagging, which doesn't seem to work with everyone as it is. But I think we'll try this next week with a 220 traffic song.

And I'd be stupid to turn down your offer to help me with trance. If the music's good, I'm glad if you can help me putting the playlist together. However, I plan on giving you several just-released songs come 2010.

Hey, Saeda... what do you do about scores that didn't post, like this:

(I have the throne at the moment anyway, but I was just wondering.)

Quite hard to imagine that as I see ^^ yep, it's a reference to curse of the black pearl.

Sorry about my being unavailable. My CPU made strange noise last Sunday, but I wasn't able to back anything left up anymore. So I had to get a new PC, wouldn't have made sense to put in a new CPU in a 6 year old PC, It would have cost just as much as a new.

Hope I'll be able to retrieve most things (especially AS) until tonight ^^

I'm sorry, this week, there won't be a result Post, I have to get my documents back first. So for now, only a round 6 Advertisement. MONO WILL GET A SEPARATE FILE!

Round: 6
Round 6 will this time start FRIDAY, 11th December at 00:00 Server Time (Check the Website below) and ends Sunday, 13th December at 24:00.

Featuring Song: Nightwish - Wish I had an Angel

Band Homepage: http://www.nightwish.com/

Files:
http://www.mediafire.com/?mkbmwzwqty1 MONO ONLY, this Audio File has been tagged for this weeks Mono Run.
http://www.mediafire.com/?z1vzwnmjnqg

The Symphonic Metal Band Nightwish hardly needs an introduction, especially for the Europeans. Formed in 1996 by Keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, Guitarist Erno „Emppu“ Vuorinen and Singer Tarja Turunen, they quickly gained popularity in Finland and throughout Europe.

Nightwish became famous for being one of the few Metal Bands who had a female Singer. Turunen, who is a professional opera singer, has greatly influenced the Style of Nightwish as well as the overall Genre of melodic metal with female singers. The Song „Wish I had an Angel“ is off their Album „Once“ that came out 2004 and reached the Top Spot in Finnish and German Music Charts.

Since 2005, the Bands new Singer is Anette Olzon. Despite the initial beliefs, the change from Turunen to Olzon did not affect the Bands popularity. The 2007 Album „Dark Passion Play“ again reached several Number 1 Positions throughout European charts and recieved quadrupal platinum in Finnland. It also made the American Charts.  The Album was praised by critics and won several Awards in 2007.

At least since „Dark Passion Play“, Nightwish is one of the leading Symphonic Metal Bands worldwide. They were one of the Headliners of the 2008 Wacken Open Air. The Band has sold over 3 Million Albums as of now.

The Song „Wish I had an Angel“ is one of their most Popular songs. It also still features Tarja Turunen as a Singer. The Song was a proposition of blue_h3x, and I believe it is a very good example for what Nightwish stands for.

Webpage: For more all the necessary information, visit the Site provided by blue_h3x here: http://blueh3x.co.uk/audiosurf-tournament/?show=rounds&number=6

Rules: You are free to practise the song as much as you like already before Friday. However, you should not yet retag the song. Only Runs done with the correct tags during the timeframe mentioned above will be taken into account. Also, Do only use the Files I provided.

Tagging:
Wish I had an Angel [as-league1-mono] [as-nogrey]
Wish I had an Angel [as-league1-eraser]
Wish I had an Angel [as-league1-pointman]
Wish I had an Angel [as-league1-pusher]
Wish I had an Angel [as-league1-dv]

Fairplay: I’d again like to remind you to be fair. Use the .ash I provided (Using the same raw file will NOT generate the same .ash over and over again!) and keep to the timetable. This is basically cheating to yourself, if you want to prove that you’re the best, it would only be fair to have the same chances as the others do.

Finally, I’d like to thank Nightwish and their Label Nuclear Blast as well as my Contact at Nuclear Blast, Reinhard Reidel, for allowing us to play this song. I believe Nightwish will for a long time remain the most popular Band in this tournament, concerning commercial success.

There will especially be some wider gaps in Mono this time since simply collecting all blocks won't give you the highscore and will ruin the clean finish.

Ok Guys, I've got the mono Throne. There are 920 blocks, I collected 919, only leaving the very last block because this one would ruin the clean finish.

Collecting every block is not the most effective way to do it. If you beat these 1'375'357 Points, you puzzled well in mono ;)

But anyway, my score again is only to show you the possible, it doesn't count in the end. So, Ko-Tao, Now you got your challenge ;)

Interestingly, the run where i tried "puzzling", that is, max chain build speed at the start then a huge string of m21s, i barely broke 1mil. Seems the cumulative hit bonus really puts a wrench in that tactic, as all those missed blocks add up to more than the extra match points. I had thought the recent 33% match score increase had changed this, but apparently not.

Solid music too, btw.

Well you collected 96%, so you have left ~38 blocks. That's, assuming you collected all blocks at the start for chain building, 7000 Points, yet you were far further behind me. So you definitly did not match too many high numbers.

Oopla seems to have done better.

By the way, Again: ONLY ELITE PLAYS

seems some people still don't read the rules.
