I've tried to use Nebula's white background and it works on the first song. But when I run the next song, the background lasts only a moment and finally disappears into a blank background. Afterwards, I tried to change to other backgrounds again but it still won't reappear.

This happened to me when i tried a resolution larger than 8192x4096. Just had a white screen. Realised my graphics card could not support texture resolutions any higher. Could this be the case for you with the 8192x4096?

How much RAM does your graphics card have?
Uncompressed an 8192x4096 texture is a 128MB bitmap, so lesser cards will struggle with it.

Mine's ATI Radeon X600, which contains 128 MB. It also can't handle videos in full HD with sufficient performance, so I guess the resolution is kind of a problem. Maybe I should lower the picture's resolution to a tolerable level...?

Halve it to 4096x2048 and it should be fine.
If not drop it again to 2048x1024.
fergtm's skysphere program should do it, or even MS paint would do a good enough job.

I've reduced the background file's resolution by half and it works on more than one song so far. Thanks for the help! I'll let you know if I get by any further problems!
