A Tag to Increase Traffic
« on: July 10, 2009, 07:39:09 am »
Could we get a tag to increase the number of blocks in a song? Elite isn't challenging enough. :P

Good to see someone being able to throne and hold the throne for anything, anytime.

Anyway, for slow songs that seem like they should be faster try [as-steep].

[as-steep], [as-caterp], [as-nogrey]
Yes, I've tried those.
Caterp isn't really all that interesting of a ride. There's more blocks but they're easy to dodge.

I play Mono so the scoreboards have little meaning to me. :P

350+ traffic
Yes, that's what I want to be able to change. I want to increase traffic on songs that have low traffic.

wouldn't a tag be nice....then i could play songs i like with fast traffic if i felt in the mood for it.

fyi, 4 lane makes it easier, i've never seen as-steep push anything over 250 traffic, as-caterp is worthless at making mono hard.

as for allgrey...i stealthed midi anarchism with that tag the other day first try....made me wonder if allgrey is easier than ironmode freeride (probably not but eyyyy)

[/quote]If mono gets too boring (which happens when it gets too easy), you should try switching to a puzzle character. That's what I did.

4lane would make a song harder if the traffic was already monstrous, like 600+. Also ive seen as-steep jack a 260 song up to 410 (and with no orange or red parts either, ended up being a seriously dense and interesting track), but that sort of effect is hella rare.

I get the feeling as-steep isnt quite working as intended yet overall.

i still disagree about 4lane... i've played a 577 traffic song on 4 lane and it was much easier than it was normally. the traffic gets dispersed among 4 lanes instead of 3....

you remember what track that as-steep did that boost for?

Well I meant a high traffic song with 4lane and nogrey to try and catch all the blocks.

Bad wording on my side, sorry.

I knew the traffic got spread thinner (played a few 300-400ish songs with 4lane) but i thought the increased concentration needed to cover more lanes would overcome the lowered density at some traffic/speed threshold. I suppose i could test ballade of blocks or whatnot and find out.

The song i was thinking of that got the massive as-steep traffic boost was:
SynthR - Tha Anthem
Songs available free on his myspace page. 100% color collection + stealth ends up much more challenging that would be expected for a mostly yellow/green track.

Hmm...
Maybe a tag like [as-intense], which would use the same effect as [as-steep] except more dramatically.
Just a thought.
