Reject significant deviants. How many different kinds of the same song can there be if they're the legal kind?

Deviants from what? The first submitted? An average of all submitted? Hope you've a nice beefy server there.
Different file formats produce different tracks as well. It would be nice and easy if everyone used the same format, but that isn't the case.

I do wonder if your different tracks are down to what codecs are installed...
I might do some experimenting if I can get AS running in Virtualbox.

Nice to hear some optimism. Like I said I'm not some genius at these things but I think something can be done to improve this. And yes I know that skipping certain blocks sometimes can give a higher score, happened to me first hand. But that doesn't make the huge differences I've seen around (least it be match 21 inducing). And yes I enjoy the style of mono more than 'puzzle' chars, one hit death at blinding speeds is my only kinda game  ;D

Your biggest problem is that you don't want to play other characters.  Mono usually can't beat too much.

And don't say that I'm just saying this because I'm an awesome pointman or something, I also only play mono.  I just don't care if I can't get a highscore.

If you're that fussed, delete your ash and re-analyse the track, or re-rip the track to a different format and re-analyse the track, see if you get a better track to play on.

or play another character type.
Austria is just like Yorkshire, but they have bigger hills.... oh and they have real snow too

That's great, I still don't care about them :|

I suppose that's worth a shot.
