.ash files - what you need to know about them

Curious about this too, I never knew about ash files until relatively recently... but I checked and I don't have any.
Were they disabled to help prevent cheating? I notice the ASR songs still seem to have them since they load pretty fast.
Edit: after Making the folder manually, the ash files seem to generate.
Guess its a bug, but easy enough (for an end user) to fix  :D
