"Everyday Shooter" music
« on: June 06, 2009, 07:42:29 pm »
The music from Jonathan Mak's "Everyday Shooter" makes for a great run.  I've been enjoying them quite a lot.  They really seem to stand out a bit from most of the music I've played.  Highly recommend giving it a try if you have access to the music (and by the same token, that you preferably buy the game that it's from, which is quite good).

I especially recommend:
Lush Look Killer
Porco in the Sky
Earthworm

Although they are all quite good.

Seems like this would actually be some really great music to release on Audiosurf radio.  Good music, generates a great run, and it would make a bit of sweet indie game development solidarity.  I'd have to imagine that Jonathan Mak would be amenable to the idea, anyway.

Side question, where did you get your Mp3s for it?  I had to get mine from the ffshrine forums, and the quality is alright but not the best.  Did he release an OST?

Basically playing the music as taken less-than-willingly from the game itself.  I can't imagine it would be too hard to find the music around somewhere.  Wouldn't it be sweet if he did release an OST, though?

Of course, I do have a suspicion that that idea might run into the typical auteur objection, such as:  That's not how the music is meant to be experienced.  I certainly hope that's not the case, but if not, one would wonder why he hasn't released the tracks already.  Seems like a very obvious move, after all.
