I can fully enjoy the game without being the top-number-one-player-of-every-song.
im pretty sure thats true for everyone apart from kEn_sct. most people just find the competetiveness of the game fun, and learning to play the characters and tactics is fun. The fact that the music goes with the track is great, but it isnt that amazing any more.

well that's what most games are like you start playing because of some wow factor the first time you played then you keep it up for the compitition or that you want to learn all of the trick and skills of the game.

Coming from you, ViRUS, that's kind of harsh :D

I generally don't play games to win, but it's not fun if you're losing really badly either.

My sentiments exactly.

This. I make an attempt to win, but if I don't, then I just say "Bah, good game". If I get my ass kicked, I tend to give up, though.

Really? Then I must be a strange person, because I still find the music-matching thing amazing, seeing that coloured block matching a drum just in time or a downhill section of a song starting right at the chorus still amazes me from time to time :)

LOL, yeah, I got a bit... pissed :P

Yeah, me neither, except when it comes to Audiosurf... With this game I just only play for the fun of it, and that's why I just don't bother with puzzle character (Ok, I'll be honest I play with Vegas from time to time)... The scoreboard has really become just a "Continue" button or a place where I can select the next song I want to ride without the hassle of having to select the character again...
