That party bus stuff is hilarious. I believe I was the genius behind that idea. But then Dylan wanted to make the game "good" and "profitable." Whatever dude.

And tell me, what is more profitable and good than a Party Bus? :P I would NEVER fit Audiosurf's style but hey! It's a Party Bus!

dylan should really clean all this stuff up some time.. save on space and probably make things less messy..dunno lol

lol, yeah, we already "waste" space with The Orange Box soundtrack :P

Double post! YAY!

Mincus, you should make it that if it can't find the old backup path, it asks for a new one or else this will happen:

image snipped...

I've not put huge amounts of checking in.
It assumes you won't do something silly like delete the backup, since this could screw over your Audiosurf install. :P

Anyway, deleting the options file in AppData/Application Data (c:\Documents and settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data in XP iirc) should fix it.

I note no-one's found the easter egg yet. Ah well. :)

I thought they were meant as Easter Eggs.

Very hard to FIND Easter Eggs, but...

Green = listening, red = surfing

I meant in the mod. Ah well.

Anyway, I've worked out why I was getting inconsistent results from my earlier testing of swapping Environment files around.
It turns out pretty much any CGR model is interchangable with any other. But they'll still render at the correct place on the track.
So if you dump one of the environment options as your ship model, it shows that piece of environment in the correct place on the track and you effectively have no ship (which is an interesting way to play).
Where I was confused is that it seems not all the Environment files are used.
For example the SetPieces.cgr model isn't used anywhere (shame, 'cos it has these cool spinny things along side the track -- although these do negatively affect framerate substantially).

So, I'll put together an update with more checks to stop ViRUS crashing things and an additional tab with environment options on.

I wish we could, if you click on "Yes" it just selects Pointman Elite (iirc) as a character :(

Navigate to *Steam path*\common\audiosurf\engine\Intros,
then swap the "SellUpgrade.cgr" and "MainMenu.cgr" names.
You can swap pretty much all of the names of that folder and
(for example), have the sound effects selector swapped with
the medal requirements window on the Pause Menu while
playing a song and view it on the song loading screen.

Buuuuuuuut, I wouldn't recommend asking us for help if Audiosurf starts working.  Just reinstall ;)
