Let me know what you guys think. Each one is designed for the sole purpose of the uphill-downhill motion, and is (to the best of my ability, knowledge, and hopefully my half-awake state) accurate on every song you can throw at it. Let me know if it needs fixing.

Brilliant stuff, my favorite so far. Thanks for sharing :)

This is an interesting idea, but what about the people who have custom track colors?  Like me, for example, the colors are basically reversed.  It would be a cool idea, if someone could make a small program that would apply the colors that are already selected in Audiosurf, and apply them to make the screen shot, that way, it would always be accurate, whether your fast downhill color is red, purple, or anywhere in between!

Looks nice though!

Thanks, Mapsking
With that thought in mind, I could release the PSD files (they're more or less easy to follow), but I don't know how many users know how to edit it, plus I'm a bit reluctant to give out my stuff :P

If anybody does ask for it, I can always give out one easy to edit. I dunno yet.

Would you mind PMing me those files?

Okay, so I finally made a video for the Skyscape designs I made. Link is right here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU2XOJKfD3o Higher Quality video coming soon (promise!)

I'm now working on the PSD files.

EDIT: And now for the PSDs, I had to upload them to my own site.

My only complaint is that I can't see the spinning lines in the background, as usual in the black settings. To me, they're a part of the entertaining visualization, such as how fast they spin and how strong and frequently they flash.

In addition, I can see no difference between Enhanced and Premium gameplay with the skysphere, so it appears ALL premium effects are disabled.  It would be nice to get them back, if possible, while using a skysphere.
Thanks, Mapsking

The grid & cliff glows are there, along with the ship motion blur and the Spectrum at the sides of the screen... So it's not exactly the same ;)

The option for the spinning lines should be in a config file. That could work.

im not sure about this but i belive your not seeing the lines because the skybox is ontop of them obscuring there view

That's what I suspect as well, maybe because the original skysphere which backs up the background lines is the underlying layer, in difference to the custom ones being overlying.

I've checked both the config and options file. The latter seems to have more detailed and appropriate preferences, but I don't know which one affects the background, if there is any at all.

Neither does, there's no way to change the background except through skyspheres.
All the colours are for blocks, the rest for various other bits, check the wiki: http://audiosurf.wikia.com/wiki/Option_Files
Also I wrote a mod for changing them: http://www.audio-surf.com/forum/index.php/topic,4898.0.html

I've made a background that changes color with the track pretty much. It works pretty good. I'll make a video.
