Sí, lamentablemente ésa versión es pirateada y por lo tanto no puede usar la traducción.

Si deseas comprar el juego, lo puedes hacer aquí:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/12900/

Cuesta sólo U$S9,99 y la verdad que por las horas de juego que te da, me parece que vale la pena comprarlo ;)

First of all Virus, I must congratulate you for your great work. I do not speak spanish, but as most brazilian people I do understand it, so you may reply this in spanish if you want.

I intend to follow your lead and make a portuguese translation for audiosurf. I clicked your tutorial link thinking it would teach me how to make a translation, but then I got disappointed. But reading the thread I found out it is not so hard. So I will post my initial doubts here, and hopefully it will impel you to make a translation guide =)

1. What program do you recomend for editing the aslang.xml file? I opened it in notepad++, but I think there was a few identation problems in this program.
2. How did you edit the images in the ...audiosurf\engine\LanguagePacks\Textures\EN folder? I know you must have used PS, but I do not have it installed here right now, so I couldn't open the files in PS. I only opened it in Irfanview, and they look very wierd there. I wonder how would you have preserved the same font style, and how important it really is to preserve images dimensions (as portuguese is somewhat similar to spanish, the texts will also be longer than the english version)
3. You mentioned the soundeffects folder, but that one appears to reffer only to in-game sound effects, such as cyclone, circuits, etc... what files must I edit there? (I do not have an .ogg player right now.)
4. The tutorial sounds, where are they???
5. For simplifying, could you please make a list of all files wich needs to be edited?
6. Let's suppose I'm done with the translation, I have an aslang_PT.xml file, and a PT folder in the textures folder, is it possible to switch from english version to spanish version or portuguese or whatever other translation I happen to make inside the game, or (as I fear) I need to replace the english files?
7. How exactly did you replace the sound of audiosurf\engine\video\startervideo video and the other videos, if there is any other? I know if I searched the internet I could find good programs and tutorials about replacing and syncing sound to videos, but I am soooooo lazy hahahahaha! (or jajajaja XD) It is so much easier just asking you!

Well, I think that's all for now!

Thanks!!

Thanks for your congratulations. I initially thought about making a tutorial, but seeing the lack of interest in translating the game and being the lazy person I am, I just forgot about it :P

Now, to the questions:

1. What program do you recomend for editing the aslang.xml file? I opened it in notepad++, but I think there was a few identation problems in this program.

I just opened it with the ol' good Notepad, just leave the <> and </> tags alone, translate what's in the middle and you should have 80% of the game already translated.

I used Paint.net to modify the images, as it's just text replacing, Photshop seemed not worth the download, and Paint couldn't keep the transparency on the png files.
The important thing when handling those pngs is that Audiosurf de-centers them when it loads them on the buttons for some reason, so (as you can see) some words are not in the center of the png, but on the lower part of it.
This may look hard to do at the beginning, but thankfully Dylan included an option to reload all the translatable textures without having to restart Audiosurf, just modify a png, save it, press F6 and see if it's centered on the in-game button.

3. You mentioned the soundeffects folder, but that one appears to reffer only to in-game sound effects, such as cyclone, circuits, etc... what files must I edit there? (I do not have an .ogg player right now.)

See below.

4. The tutorial sounds, where are they???

The files for the tutorial are:
· audiosurf is a visualizer.ogg
· high score board popup.ogg
· intense down.ogg
· last_tutorial_screen.ogg
· minimap.ogg
· rush down.ogg
· screen_1_welcome.ogg
· second_color_blue_screen_8.ogg
· slow up.ogg
· third_color_green.ogg
· time_to_add_traffic_screen_6.ogg
· tunnels.ogg
· you_made_a_cluster_screen_7.ogg

They're located inside of all the effects folder, and if you forget to replace them from one of the folders, when you select that scheme in-game, the tutorial will use the original (in english) files, those are the only ones you must edit from the sound effects folders.

5. For simplifying, could you please make a list of all files wich needs to be edited?

See above.

6. Let's suppose I'm done with the translation, I have an aslang_PT.xml file, and a PT folder in the textures folder, is it possible to switch from english version to spanish version or portuguese or whatever other translation I happen to make inside the game, or (as I fear) I need to replace the english files?

No, it's not currently possible. For your translation to be "officially" detected by Audiosurf, Dylan must integrate them, just like the russian one (right click on "Audiosurf" on Steam > Properties > Language > Select Russian > Close, Steam will then delete the english files and download the russian ones). But with the speed Dylan is integrating translations, I think that could take a very, very long time (I last sent a PM to him asking for news on the translations front the 15th of April and he never replied back).

I just loaded the video in the good ol' (again?) Windows Movie Maker, selected "Stablish audio levels", dragged the slider all the way to "Audio/Music", loaded Audiosurf Overture from an MP3 file and synced it, exported the new video without lebeth's voice to my PC, loaded it again, clicked on "Narrate time scale" and started talking in spanish :P

Give it a go, WMV is everything you need to translate the intro video and once you get used to it, it's utterly easy to use. And yes, the tutorial video is the only one you have to translate.

Well, I think that's all for now!

Thanks!!

Glad to help! If you have any other questions, I'll be glad to answer them :D

Perdón por el tri-post pero actualicé la traducción y quería mandar el post arriba (tiene varias correcciones aquí y allá, asique recomendaría que la bajen)

Sorry about the triple post, I just wanted to bump the thread since I updated the translation :)
