"Best of" Electronic music list
« on: March 11, 2009, 10:06:13 pm »
Basically a little person project that started as a group of really fun techno songs to play, and then ended up as a hypothetical "main" game setlist for me composing of really fun songs from any band that uses an excessive amount of synth/electronic sound.

After putting this much time into it, I figured I'd just share the setlist here. I suggest any songs from here if you havn't played them already.

*- Windowlicker – Aphex Twin
*- Sandstorm – Darude
*- Star Guitar – The Chemical Brothers
*- Freezepop Forever (Ionian Remix) – Freezepop
*- Engle – Rammstein
*- Aerodynamic – Daft Punk
---
*- Secrete Messages – Electric Light Orchestra
*- Ready Steady Go – Paul Oakenfold
*- Rubicon – VNV Nation
*- Hold Your Colour – Pendulum
*- Dare – Gorillaz
*- Epitaph – Front Line Assembly
---
*- My Heaven Is Your Hell – Lordi
*- Juke Joint Jezebel – KMFDM
*- Robot Rockerz – Komputer Kontroller
*- Edgecrusher – Fear Factory
*- I’m Your Basscreator – Basshunter
*- Just Like You Imagined – Nine Inch Nails
---
*- One (Always Hardcore) – Scooter
*- Hysteria – Muse
*- Southside – Moby
*- Forbidden Paradise - DJ Tiesto
*- Becoming Insane – Infected Mushroom
*- Phatbeat 1303 – Blindside
---
*- Pistolero – Juno Reactor
*- Light the Torch – Soilwork
*- Need for Steve – Machinae Supremacy
*- Synthesized – Symbion Project
*- Mercury (CSS Remix) – Bloc Party
*- Get Away – RenardV
---
*- Electronic Slight of Hand – Buckethead
*- Lawn Wake IV (Black) – The Flashbulb
*- Bombshell – Powerman 5000
*- Vittrance – Hubnester Industries
*- Voodoo People (Pendulum Mix) – The Prodigy
*- Divine the Dogblood – Masugn

Some of these don't seem to be techno/electronic to me, but meh...probably the sound is what you were implying.

Green = listening, red = surfing

Was just thinking exactly that when I opened the thread lol.

I recommend Electronic Heart. No idea who it's by and cba to look it up at the moment.

It's a fine day [ATB Remix] - Miss Jane

Phantom Pt.ii [SoulWax Remix] - Justice

The Spell - Feed Me

Start the game  - Tune up

Yeah, I threw in some rock songs that like to use electronic sound in their music (Muse, ELO) or were electronic remixs (the bloc party song, although bp tends to use a lot of synth I think). Majority is some form of techno, ranging from trance to ibm to industrial. I was trying to aim for variety as you can see.

Thanks for the suggestions, try them and out and who knows, maybe I'll get board and make a second setlist.

DVNO by Justice seems like that sort, and also Believe by The Chemical Brothers is good.  I'm not entirely sure what constitutes electronica, though.

I'm not a huge fan of basshunter ether, but that song is amazing to play in the game

What's wrong with Sandstorm? It's a great song for Audiosurf.

Some of my favorite electronic songs on Audiosurf:
Just about anything from Life and Exodus by Andy Hunter (in particular, "Sandstorm Calling" and "Lifelight") - the songs from his newest CD aren't as good in my opinion
"Cotton Eye Joe", "Hittin' The Hay" and "Wild 'n' Free" by Rednex
"Vanilla Gorilla", "Coco Rock" and "Waka Laka" by Jenny Rom and the Zippers
"Speed Over Beethoven" by Rose
"Butterfly" by I Love You! Project
"Quietsche Entchen" by Cosmix featuring Ernie

I think it belongs in here.

Some Tracks that are really fun to ride to:

969 - Muzik non Pop
Nachtmahr - Boom Boom Boom
Project Pitchfork - Timekiller
And One - Steine sind Steine
And One - Panzermensch
Twilight Forces - Darq Exile

969 and Nachtmahr are Rhythm'n'Noise, giving you lots of intensity and red bricks :)

Good Hunting everyone :)

"Electronica" doesn't exist - it's simply a word that the press uses to describe electronic music as a whole, which is basically impossible considering how complex the whole world is... at least if you look below the surface.

Go forth and learn about the glory of EDM.
