View Scoreboard online?
« on: January 22, 2008, 08:08:47 am »
Great game, one quick question.

Via Google it's clear that you can view scores online with the php script, but how do you access this yourself to specify a song or artist? i.e. is there a facility to browse the scoreboards?

Many thanks

I haven't made it easy to browse scoreboards from a browser, but I will.

Hello, first of all, arse kissing time, great game, thoroughly addicted!

Decided to search on this issue you've brought up, the scoreboard is great, but what I would like to be able to do is search users etc, I have some knowledge of PHP ( not a lot ) but made this little tool...

http://estick.no-ip.org/fetchscores.php

If you feel as if it is in some way harming the system, please say so, and I will remove it, this is just a test...

Thanks!

I am quite limited though, not having access to the databases, because I could do much more with that information, but I won't pry.

For a very limited php script, it works quite well though. I'll improve it a little, later on.

Hey, good job! That does it for specific searches. Now all we need are general artist/title only searches and a browser. Both of which I think you would need access to the database to create. If it becomes a big deal (im thinking of wow's armory) it might be best to copy the updates from the database every 15+ minutes or something to a separate computer server.
4400+ x2, 2gb ddr1, winxp sp2, 8800 gts 320.

Querying a database can be tricky, traffic seems to be a big issue at the moment so it might not be a good idea to search for a sole artist or song name, I think i'll leave it up to Dylan for now, I don't want to pressure the servers any more than they are under, unless he needs any help, which I doubt haha.
It's in the works apparently, but more importantly, he has to fix issues with the game, I guess, til then I'll look forward to PHP awesome!
