Just a quick thought about the options, I think also, part of the reason some features are not included in-game, is that not everyone has the same kind of computer, hardware is all different, therefore, some features, like playing at 1920x1200 resolution in premium mode, with custom traffic, backgrounds, tags, tiles, tile flyups, ships/characters, and anything else changed or modded, would have different results on a high end and a low-end computer. If someone is playing on a lower-end computer, but will still play with the minimum specs, they will get a big performance hit, and will, therefore, not be as enjoyable of an experience. Certainly, that is not what Dylan wishes, although I'm not going to put words into his mouth. Unlike a console system, such as an Xbox 360, everything is different. On that system, as all hardware is the same everywhere, a game/developer team can push every game to the maximum potential, with the available hardware, and everyone will be able to play it with the same performance. Unfortunately, that is the nature of computers, not to mention it isn't fair for people with a lower-end computer to either not be able to play the game and enjoy it, or play it with reduced performance.
I would say that HE doesn't want to be the one causing the damage to low-end systems, but if the users of the low-end systems want to harm themselves, he doesn't care really. (I'm not Dylan, so I don't know if what I said was true, but that's how I feel)
