WMP isn't that great...but it IS better than iTunes for simple playback.

So if I spend more money for a song I can use it wherever I want?
Spending more money as opposed to buying it... where exactly?

I'd like this question answered.  Please.  If torrenting is the answer, then the original question was invalid.

Amazon has a massive selection of mp3's that have no DRM, come in a high quality format, and doesn't require a crappy program like iTunes to buy the music.  That's where I get all of my tunes from.

I also get my MP3s from Amazon.com. I don't think I've purchased a CD since probably a whole year now.

But...  as far as I know, individual songs still cost the same whether you get them from iTunes or Amazon.  I suppose there is that special thing Amazon does with bestselling songs.

I haven't bought a CD or any music since one of Eminem's CDs when I was like 12 or something, lol.

Not at all. Ever since the beginning Amazon's had a slightly varying structure (sometimes 89 cents, sometimes for longer tracks over 99 cents rather than 'album only' -- I've seen tracks cost $3.60), and albums very often cost $1 less than iTunes. Multi-CD sets almost always are a much better deal on Amazon as well.
Plus, it's DRM-free Mp3 (i.e., universal format), in better quality.

Granted, price wise eMusic and a couple other places kills either.
