You actually payed for access to their forums?

LOL @ U

10 dollars?

Yeah. I'm on the streets.

10 dollars well spent, if only to not have to see people say things like "LOL @ U"

Either way you're whining. Empty quotes or LOL @ U's, pick one.

Welcome to the internet.

If it was beatmania style then this game wouldn't be  called Audio Surf, now would it? So sit down shut up and let the producers continue such an amazing game.

So, just because I didn't shell out $10 to register on a forum that isn't relevant to my interests it makes me poor? I like the way you think. Do you buy video games you hate? Didn't think so. Your logic is broken.

On topic: I wouldn't mind seeing a Beatmania IIDX-esque mode if Dylan is willing to take the time to make a character for it. But then again this is Audiosurf not IIDX, meh.

This is already partially implemented as you can use the ASDF keys to jump directly yo any lane.

A and F are the shoulders, S and D are the left and right lanes, and no key press is the centre lane. Personally I'd rather have a middle lane button as it's hard for me to remember to NOT press a key to get back to the centre, especially in very hectic songs where i might be going to lots of lanes very fast.

Then again, I prefer to play with the mouse anyway

Beatmania involves exact timing, not lining yourself up first.  Audiosurf doesn't work that way.

Frankly I think it would be kind of a pointless addition.

As Macster says, you can ALREADY jump directly from lane to lane.  I imagine the suggestion is that there be no 'ship' at all, and no way to 'accidentally' hit blocks, and it'd just play like every other rhythm game in existence (but without a mat/guitar/inflatable giraffe).

Why do people always want to make any given game like the 'normal' games in that genre?  Any RTS forum is full of people saying 'needs to be more like CoH', any shooter forum is full of people saying 'needs to be more like Counterstrike', etc.  It's lame.

Next we should add some arrows.  And you could press the arrows on your keyboard to match up with the song!  Maybe after that, add support for strumming and a guitar peripheral!

Well then, make a mode where when you hit a given color of block you have to press a specific keystroke, otherwise you will go overload
