Spoken word ... works!
« on: January 20, 2008, 03:47:45 pm »
Hey guys, I tried a whole bunch of random stuff yesterday, from FreezePop, Overseer, Hideki Naganuma, Tool, Cradle of Filth, Ani DiFranco, Hilltop Hoods, Sage Francis (covering everything from synth pop, to metal, to folk, to electronica) and thought for the hell of it I'd try some spoken word.

Gil Scott-Heron, black American spoken word performer and musician. I loaded a number of tracks focussing on spoken word and must say they turned out MUCH better than I expected.

Congrats Dylan, for producing a program that can pick up the flow of words as well as the heavy beat and rythyms of a full band.

Yes I tried this yesterday as well - I picked a reading of a poem - It turned out quite nice and was actually quite fun -

I did the same thing with a few tracks from the late comedian Mitch Hedberg.  I like how it's the most intense right when a joke begins in the track.  Regardless, it's still fun either way, whether with music, spoken word...heck even with just plain sounds.

It just surprised me how well the game picked up the rythym of the words. That was amazing.

Hmm, random sounds hey? I might try playing to the 1up podcast hahaha.

I mostly play as the Ninja Mono, but I occasionally like to play as the eraser, or as I call it, the "ethnic cleanser"!

Tenacious D is fun. You get spoken word and rock.
