you must click the "Connect with AS" button once Audiosurf reaches the characters screen, it won't work when it's loading.

Or, you can just check "Connect automatically" and it'll connect with Audiosurf as soon as possible...

EDIT: Oh, and I think I should add that mapsking and I were finally able to fix his problem!  :D

You have to click back in the Audiosurf window AFTER clicking the "connect with AS" button.

Also AudioSurf needs to be on the character screen (of after). It won't connect on the news screen

Just a thought, but I think you should add from within AHOAA the ability, or from within YAAP itself, the ability to automatically check for upgrades.  I mention it because, I just loaded up AHOAA, then YAAP, and it loaded version 2.5, whereas 2.9 is available.  :-)

Thanks, Mapsking

Thrown an Exception...
« Reply #112 on: February 13, 2010, 06:37:29 am »
YAAP always gives me "...thrown an exception..." message when I reached the Character Select Screen with YAAP Automatically Connected.
I hit Continue each time those messages show up, and finally, YAAP is connected with AudioSurf.
but, I can't add any songs to the playlist.
I've also tried to Verify the Game Cache several times, but those "thrown an exception" messages pops up.
I've Installed .Net Framework SP1, and using Win XP SP 2.

Am I making a mistake somewhere?

Yes, that's me being lazy, I should update AHOAA and include the latest version of YAAP, but since it's the only addon that has been updated, I just kept delaying it... I promise I'll update it when I release YAAP 3.0 though...

Anyway, if you want to launch YAAP using AHOAA, you can always go where AHOAA is installed, inside the addons\ViRUS\Yet Another Audiosurf Player, delete everything that's inside there (EXCEPT for the YAAPV file) and paste what's inside the ZIP file you downloaded from here, that should update it to the latest version (note that AHOAA will still say that it has the old version though).

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

so, more quick notes that didn't make it to the changelog:

to use the shortcut commands to load a playlist at startup, you must write the full path, so to load a playlist inside E:\YAAP Playlist, you must write (space)"E:\YAAP Playlists\Cascada.ypf" including the "" at the end of the Destiny: textbox.

you can also associate the new .ypf format for playlists with YAAP, to do this the easiest way, you can do this:

Fire up YAAP 3.0 and let it convert all your .txt playlists to the new .ypf one
Head over to your playlists folder and double-click one of the newly converted files, click "Select program from a list" then OK, click "Browse..." on the new dialog and select YAAP's executable, then click OK.

and that's it! enjoy the new version :D
(enjoy the hotkeys, Mincus =P)

gakpakeerror, please see if this version fixes your problem...

Found a rather unpleasant bug with the tagging centre:
1. Open a playlist, any playlist.
2. Tag it, doesn't matter what.
3. Re-open the same playlist.
4. Head to the tagging centre and you can tag it again.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you get bored.
Also, you can right-click and select "tag selected songs" as many times as you want.

I suggest the easiest way to solve this is to remove all tags from a song title BEFORE applying any new ones.
Easiest way is to just delete everything after the first instance of "[as-", but I think I've told you that before. ;)

Also, am I not seeing it or is there STILL no way to wait until the character screen before moving to the next song?
I really want to see my score and I keep returning to SPS as a result of this one missing thing. :P

Overall a solid release from what I've tested so far though. :)
