No traffic in Devil went down to Georgia?
« on: January 20, 2008, 10:30:45 am »
Now im aware that devil went down to georgia is played on a fiddle, and is probably hard for the program to read, but why are there no notes?

is anyone else having this problem, or did i just get an unlucky version?

(Sorry if this is supposed to be in bug report, seemed like less of a bug and mroe just the song...)

How was the highway shaped? Did it have dips?

same thing here, but with Seven Years by Saosin. Very rocky (emocore) song, semi calm verses with intensive refrains. the highway was sahped like a spiral, uphill all the time...

see for yourself:

When I played Devil Went Down to Georgia it had cars the entire time, was really fun to play. I used Ninja Mono.

I had this issue when I tried to play "Time of our Lives" by Paul Van Dyke. The track looked exactly like above, and when I got to the part where it was supposed to slope down on the track, the song ended and the car just stopped in place. I could still move back and forth, but I couldn't go forward. That's the only song it's happened to me on...so it may just be something with the song or something.

I think this is an error involving how the mp3 file is encoded. If you have the appropiate software decompress the mp3 into a wav file. Then compress the wav file into a mp3.
My song that had this problem was Something (Trance Mix) by Lasgo. The loading screen showed traffic but it was empty so I tried this and it worked.

I used CDex version 1.52, which is freeware you can get here http://cdexos.sourceforge.net

If this is problem with how audiosurf reads the mp3 and not the mp3's encoding I don't know but this fixed my problem.

I had something similar happen when I tried to play Dragonforce - Through The Fire And Flames.  It gave me a graph that started lower left and went to upper right straight line.  Dummy me I played it.  In order for it to recalculate the map i had to delete the preload file located (steam version) in c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\audiosurf\engine\AudiosurfHC and then delete the appropriate file.  I recommend doing this with the game closed.  Upon retrying it calculated a proper map.

There's traffic in that song slightly after it starts, your copy of it must not be working with it right
